Hello guys,

I am a student at YMCA College, currently, I am in 4th year of B.Tech CS (Specialization in Data Science). This College is Tier-2 level in Haryana. I took admitted to this college during the pandemic of corona-virus in 2020. I heard a lot about this college. It is considered heaven for the students of Faridabad. Everyone in Faridabad knows about this college, even those who are not educated know about this college. For them, it is beyond IITs and NITs (Because they don’t know about them, YMCA is all for them) lol.

I have had a great journey till now in this college. So, I will share my journey of YMCA Campus till now:

  • First Year: As I took admitted during the duration of the pandemic, my first 3 semesters went online. There was no fun during those first three semesters. All the classes during those semesters went online. Every day just wakes up in the morning and log in to join Google Meet nothing else special. Except that we were not getting any special knowledge during that time. All the tests and exams were online and done with unfair means. It is good that at least we don’t have core subjects during that time, otherwise it would be a great loss for us. Hopefully, like any other Engineering college, we have common unimportant subjects that were there for 2 semesters like mechanical, Electrical, Physics, and Chemistry subjects. As these subjects as less important for a CS undergraduate, Therefore, it was not a big loss for us at all.
  • Second Year: First half of 2nd year was online. At the time of the end-semester exams, the college went open and we have to give first-time offline exams. There were two choices there, each student was allowed to choose one of the given choices, either an online MCQ test on college’s computers or traditional offline exams on paper. From the 4th semester, our campus life become normal as covid was under control. During the 4th semester, all of the students meet with each other, Even teachers were happy to interact in person with students of the 2020 batch.
  • Third Year: As the on-campus placement starts after ending of 3rd year, So during 3rd year. All of the students start preparing for their on-campus placement. Most of them indulge themselves in Competitive Programming contests. They start solving SDE sheets for better preparation of Technical Interviews. Along with that maintaining development is also essential. So they start web, android development, Machine Learning, or any other skill of their choice.
  • Fourth Year: In the first half of the fourth year the companies are invited for on-campus placements by TPO (Training and Placement Office). So the entire 7th semester of students goes into the interview preparation. Those students who grabbed an offer enjoyed the rest of the semester, while other ones still prepare hard. In YMCA, it is mandatory to do an internship in the 8th semester, for that purpose, the entire 8th semester has no subjects to study.

In this way, The four years engineering of a student comes to an end. I am currently in my 7th semester and preparing for the on-campus internship. The college is good in every aspect except the infrastructure and area. YMCA is the smallest university in Haryana in terms of land area. It is just 28 acres.

Placements: In terms of placement YMCA is a good college, All of the major recruiters like Amazon, Adobe, Samsung, Yamaha, Flipkart, Media.net, and other tech giants come for on-campus placements along with mass recruiters.
