During my campus experience at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), I noticed that the faculty was a mix of experienced and new members, with some exceptional teachers standing out. However, I also encountered a few instructors who heavily relied on PowerPoint presentations for their lectures, which sometimes impacted the effectiveness of the teaching methods in certain departments.

One notable aspect of YCCE was its diverse and lively student crowd, creating a vibrant atmosphere on campus. The interactions with fellow students from various backgrounds enriched my college journey and provided opportunities to learn from different perspectives.

Regarding college festivals, YCCE organized events that were enjoyable, but I also heard that Raisoni College had a reputation for hosting more vibrant and memorable festivals.

Journey from first year to final year

In terms of practical knowledge and real-world developer skills, YCCE’s curriculum felt somewhat outdated. It became evident that self-learning and exploring additional resources were essential to gain a comprehensive understanding of the field of computer technology.

For those considering higher studies or government jobs, YCCE might still be a good option, but it is essential to be proactive in self-study and skill development to supplement the academic experience.

Exams at YCCE were considered relatively challenging, especially for students who tended to procrastinate until the last moment. The college took exams seriously, which was evident in their rigorous evaluation process.

YCCE had a strict attendance requirement of 65%, which meant being disciplined in attending classes regularly. However, I found that this rule helped maintain a focused academic environment.

As I reflect on my campus experience, I have come to understand that college rankings, such as the NIRF ranking, do not always reflect the true quality of education and opportunities an institution provides. It is vital to consider personal interests, career goals, and the willingness to take initiative in learning when making a college choice.

Ultimately, success in the field of computer technology or any other area depends on one’s dedication, hard work, and self-dependence. Many students who faced challenges or even setbacks during their college years have gone on to achieve remarkable success through their perseverance and determination.

Placements

During my placement experience at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), I observed that the college had an average placement record, with packages ranging around 3 to 4 lakhs per annum. While YCCE claimed 100% placement, there were rumors that some students were placed in BPOs to inflate the numbers. However, I found that those who possessed even basic coding skills had better chances of securing jobs with reputed companies. The process was competitive, and around 70 out of 130 students managed to secure these packages, primarily through mass recruiters like TCS, Capgemini, and L&T. Although the placements were not in the 6-10 lakh range, those with coding knowledge had decent opportunities to kickstart their careers.
