YMCA Faridabad is a tier-2 college in Haryana. Now it is a state university, more than 10 colleges are affiliated to this university till now. I am a student of 4th year studying in B.Tech. Computer Science (Specialization in Data Science). Now let us talk about the YMCA college’s annual fest Culmyca.

This fest takes place around the month of March every year. There are many events that take place inside this event. Freshers enjoy a lot this annual event. This event runs for an entire week. The events that take place are as follows:

  • Zumba: The “free dance” event organized by the Vivekananda club of the college drew huge participation from students and teachers alike. Emulating the steps of the club members dancing on Bollywood songs was real fun and filled our hearts with happiness.
  • Rakzz: This Western group dance competition undoubtedly owned the stage! The dancing society of the college left everyone awestruck with their energetic performance. There are prizes for each top winner.
  • Folklore: The dancing society of our college mesmerized the audience yet again, with their folk dance, depicting the traditional life of people in an interesting way.
  • Stage Play: The dramatics society gave yet another amazing performance in the “stage play”. Proper theatre with a number of props and actors completely immersed in their characters, it was a treat to watch the drama!
  • Woodstock Woodstock: a battle of bands saw some of the finest raw musical performances which were hugely cheered and appreciated by the crowd during the mid-night show. This massive sonic experience with varied genres spread enthusiasm among the students and was thus the main highlight of the day! And the battle was finally won by the team led by Arindam Raj Nirala followed by the team led by Karan Handa which secured the second position.
  • Codewars: Codewars was a code debugging challenge for all the geeks out there. Unlike the usual coding, this time the participants had to view codes and find bugs faster than the rest. This fierce competition was won by Mahima Chandwani and Kanika Arora at the first position, Hema and Shubham at the second position, Namit and Simran Kaur at the third position.
  • Robowars: This event saw some innovative and powerful robots fighting in an arena full of obstacles. This event experienced active participation from different colleges. The teams named ‘BULL RIDER’ and ‘SCORPIONS’ bagged the 1st and 2nd positions respectively while ‘ROBO WARRIORS’ came 3rd in this thrilling and exciting event.
  • Group Song: A unique musical blend of western opera and Indian classical, the choir gave a splendid performance with harmonized and pitch perfect songs, rejuvenating our spirits.
  • DJ Night: After the long second day of the fest, the tired souls couldn’t miss a chance to shout out loud or skip a single beat at the DJ Night. From the newest Bollywood hits to terrifically catchy Hollywood songs, DJ Maddy got the crowd together to groove in the madness and gave a lifetime experience that nobody would think to miss.

At last, this event come to an end. In the whole week, I enjoyed the event a lot. Freshers looked too much excited in these whole events.
