This is the journey of a graduate student to get admitted to the Guru Ghasidas Central University. In this article, I’ll share my whole trip to get accepted for the MCA programme at the GGU (Guru Ghasidas Central University, Bilaspur, Chattisgarh). It will contain everything from the entrance exam to the first day of class, it was quite an experience for me to move to another state for higher education, and from that, my whole carrier could be decided. So let’s dive into the various step that I had to go, hope it can help some other aspirants, so they can have oversight of the whole process.

The Entrance Exam

I have filled out the exam form for the CUET ( Common University Entrance Test) exam that is conducted for the student to take admission to different prestigious universities from all over India, for undergraduate or postgraduate studies, since I wanted to take admitted to MCA, for that I appeared in the exam, in which the question was ask as two-part, the first part was general that contains the reasoning, aptitude, and English and second part mainly contain from the respective domain, in my case it was related to computer fundamentals. The whole exam process was quite smooth.

Result and Counselling Process

Result Day: This is the day when every student gets very nervous, and I was no exception. After 15 or 20 days after the the entrance exam the result day was here, When I saw my results, they were not what I expected. I was hit by a wave of anxiety, and I needed emotional support from my loved ones. I was fortunate to receive that support.

From there, I had to apply to different universities around India. I filled out applications for around 5 or 6 universities, but I was rejected from all of them due to a lack of enough marks. Finally, I received the merit list from GGU, and I was on the list. At this point, I put all of my problems aside and decided to take admission there.

Counselling Day: When I get the date of the counselling, I was ready for it, I had compiled all the required original and spare documents since I didn’t want to do any mistakes on this part, for the counselling I have to visit the Bilaspur city, were the university was located, and yes you guessed it right, it was offline counselling, I reached there one day before the counselling and next day was the day of the admission, to be honest, I was quite nervous and afraid, that will I get the admission or not? On the counselling day, I had to fill out a form to get some important details about the student, every other student filled it out and waited for some time to get the list of the student who will the admission on that day, after some time the list came and I happened to get the admission in the same day, to this point, I was quite relieved.

Document Verification: It was quite a smooth part, there were several professors, doing the document verification of other students, My name was called out, I get to the professor and I gave all the required documents that he asked, I was asked for all the marks of my previous academic records, this went for 10 minutes and then my file was ready and I was informed you are admitted and you can go and pay the fees.

Fees Payment: The fee payment process was very simple, there was a university QR code and all the students had to scan it to pay the fees, so this was the final step of the counselling. After fee payment, all the students were given a tentative date for the commandment of classes, and this duration was of around one month, so I headed back to the home town.

First day of Class: I was quite happy, after getting admission, and was quite excited to attend the very first class after a wait of one month for the counselling, I happen to stay in the hostel near the university, and I attended the first class and it was fun, full of unknowns students around there everything was quite strange at first, but got comfortable after some time. And the whole day passed like in no time.

Conclusion

Taking admission to another city can be a daunting task, but it can also be an exciting and rewarding experience. I was filled with stress, excitement, and anxiety when I travelled to GGU for the first time. However, I was able to make friends on my first day, and the counselling process was smooth. I am now settled in and enjoying my new life in a new city.

I wish all the best to the students who are reading this article. If you are considering taking admission to another city, I encourage you to go for it. It can be a challenging experience, but it is also an opportunity to grow and learn.
