GGU Admission Experience

Brief Description of My Course:

My journey began as a JEE aspirant with dreams of entering prestigious institutions. Despite not securing a spot in IIT or NIT, I decided against a gap year, recognizing the value of time and the importance of skills over mere academic achievement. This realization led me to Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), where I enrolled in the Information Technology (IT) program.

Interview I Have Given for This Course:

I did not undergo a traditional interview process for GGU. Instead, I seized an opportunity during spot counselling at GGU. Despite missing JOSAA and CSAB deadlines, I remained persistent and applied during the remaining spot counselling period. This decision proved pivotal as I secured admission to pursue IT at GGU.

Criteria and Process of Admission:

The admission process at GGU involved spot counselling, providing an alternative route for those who missed earlier deadlines. Even with a less-than-ideal JEE score, I found an opportunity to pursue my academic goals. GGU’s admission criteria allowed me to join the IT program, emphasizing the university’s commitment to inclusivity.

Life at GGU:

Upon entering GGU, I faced challenges such as the absence of hostel accommodation despite having a higher percentile than some of my peers. However, these challenges did not overshadow the positive aspects of college life. The initial semesters covered general subjects like physics and chemistry, gradually transitioning into IT-focused coursework.

The college culture, while not exceptional, was acceptable. Some clubs predominantly focused on coding, urging students to excel in this area. I eventually joined these clubs, realizing the importance of balancing academics with skill development.

As I progressed to the second year, I forged friendships with like-minded individuals who, like me, overcame obstacles to secure a place at GGU. My academic journey taught me that CGPA alone does not define success; practical skills are equally crucial.

In summary, my admission journey at GGU may not have followed the traditional path, but it opened doors to a valuable learning experience. Balancing academics with skill development has become my mantra, and I am grateful for the friendships and lessons gained during my two years at GGU.
