Chitkara University Admission Experience

Initiating the journey of higher education is a crucial and significant step or milestone in every student’s life.

These being my thoughts too, after my 12th board exams, I started looking for a place, and institution that could help me in upgrading and uplifting my skills and talent academically and socially, where I could have a diverse environment for new experiences and where I could meet the best version of myself.

With all these things in mind, a few months back, before my admission, I was surfing the Internet for the best colleges, to get some good ideas. The first name popped up, and I was in love with that institute I meant by the infrastructure of the college, but I knew only this I couldn’t pick a college. I had many aspects on what basis to choose a college –

• Infrastructure,
• Accommodation,
• Hostel facility,
• Student Staff Ratio,
• Education,
• Placements etc.

My parents were a little worried about the admission. Asking the relatives and neighbors about where to go and which college to choose. They all had different views and opinions on this. Share the experiences of how their children got to their dream colleges. But I think I have a different personality. I wanted to select my college on my own and with my parent’s agreement. Although the external advice sometimes altered my parent’s minds. But I made sure that those ideas didn’t affect our decision.

Few days went by , once again I was surfing on the Interrnet , I was particularly interested in pursuing a degree in Computer Science , So I focused on colleges known for their strong computer science departments . To get a firsthand feel for the campuses , I decided to embark on a series of college vists . I selected some of the colleges , which I thought would be best for me . And I thought these visits would allow me to access the overall atmosphere and determine whether each college aligned with my personal and academic preferences . And they really helped . I also sought guidance from my high school teachers , who were familiar with my academic strenghts , aspiration and interests.

With all the hard-work it went by with this searching , and after creating a comprehensive list of pros and cons for each college . Now , I finally decided where I would go , I chose the college not only excelled in computer science but also offered a supportive community . It was “Chitkara University” and I opted for Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering .

I enquired about the admission process and with my parent’s agreement I readily approached for the details of the admission process and with the clear mind and with all the research that I did , I filled the admission form online and I also got the approval of form filling through e-mail by the college office . The very last few lines of the mail stated to come to the college on a particular date , that was told later .

Few days later I got the call to come after two days and beleive me I was on the ninth sky .

The big day came , we went for the college . After a three hour long drive , we reached “Chitkara University” . Me with my parents entered the college office for the admission . A mix of nervousness , excitement and anticipation filled the air . The office was bustling with activity as other prospective students and their families engaged in similar processes .

The college staff welcomed us warmly , and I approached the admission counter with my application material in hand . I was filling the necessary paperworks , and In the chaos I saw my parent’s with a constant smile , might be full of pride . The admission officer, behind the desk , engaged in brief conversation with me about my course and also about his experience in college . I felt a sense of validation and encouragement , feeling that this is something big.

As they moved the paperworks , my parents had the time enquiring about campus life , support services and any additional information that would ensure a smooth transition for me . I must say the college staff addressed us very patiently and politely . After the paperwork was complete , I received my ID Card , the symbol of my official entry into the college . I knew my parents were proud . They also took some pictures to commemorate this significant milestone . Leaving the college office , we felt a mix of emotions – excitement , a sense of accomplishment and a sense of optimism too.
Really the college admission process , beacame a memorable and positive experience that marked the beginning of my higher education adventure .
