I had an interview for an education loan, and I would like to share my experience with you all.

When I arrived at the location, I was informed that there would be four interviewers, including one from the Netherlands Therefore, the interview would be conducted in English. While I had given many interviews before, this was my first one in English, which made me a bit nervous. The interview was scheduled for 4 PM, but I arrived half an hour early and verified my documents.
Unfortunately, there was another candidate who arrived late, causing the document verification process to take longer than expected. As a result, the interviewers had to wait, and I felt that this may have had a negative impact.

Tip: The lesson I learned from this experience is that it is crucial to arrive early for an interview to ensure a smooth process.

After waiting for a while, it was finally my turn for the interview. I entered the room after seeking permission and found the four interviewers, as mentioned earlier. They began by asking about my educational background, board exam scores, and the semester’s SPI (Semester Performance Index). I shared my percentages and SPI, and they appreciated my academic achievements.

During the conversation, they asked whether I had studied Gujarati medium or English medium. I informed them that I came from a Gujarati medium background. Surprisingly, they praised my fluent English speaking skills, despite not having an English medium education. They also commended my confidence and eye contact. Their appreciation boosted my self-assurance, and I appreciated their positive feedback.

Tip: The lesson I learned from this encounter is to always have confidence in oneself. Nervousness is natural, but it should not undermine your confidence.

Once the interview concluded, they asked if I had any questions for them.

Tip: A tip I would like to share here is that when asking questions, demonstrate your genuine interest.

In my case, I inquired about their alumni network and the possibility of connecting with them. They informed me that they had a substantial number of alumni and maintained WhatsApp groups for their students. Occasionally, they also invited alumni for meetings. They expressed that my question was excellent, as previous candidates had not shown little interest in exploring future opportunities. This is what made me different from other candidates.

Overall, the experience was truly rewarding. Moving forward, whether it’s a job interview or any other situation, I will approach it with confidence.

Thank You.
