  • Campus Environment:
  1. Considering the location of the College, the temperature lies around, 30 degrees which is considerably high, but the campus buildings are mostly equipped with central AC (at certain times the Central AC can malfunction but the issue gets resolved in 1hr-2hrs).
  2. It has technically one basketball court and a very small cricket ground which is mostly suitable for a little practice ground.
  3. The same goes for the Campus Size, as half of the area is filled with Hostels.
  4. It has *ONLY ONE EYE CATCHING AUDITORIUM* i.e. “Bansuri Guru Auditorium”.
  5. It has a very nice cafeteria which seems small concerning the number of students studying, but the quality of food is more than average. (NOTE: Food prices may seem pricy to some people. Eg: You may need more than Rs.100 for a full meal).
  6. There is no sign of RAGGING as the campus pledges #SAY_NO_TO_RAGGING.
  7. Teachers are mostly Odia(Probably 20-30%), and Lab-assistants are surpassingly Odia(Probably >90%). Sometimes students may face difficulty in understanding as some teachers shift their study style from Hindi to Odia.
  8. Some teachers have a caring mindset most of the time.
  9. Strictness is subjective and may vary from teacher to teacher.
  10. The faculty members also don’t like Western dressing sense as this creates an awkward situation during lab sessions (like you are prohibited to wear shorts in lab as you have to sit down and write).
  11. The campus has a surpassing majority of CSE students wrt to other branch students.
  12. The college has a Central library but the library is mainly equipped with college books only, most students go there for self-study.
  13. Yes, the library also has an e-library that has nearly 200+ computers with full internet connectivity with speeds reaching up to 200-500 MBps, but due to mismanagement, the computers are filled with unwanted gaming and editing applications.
  14. The whole campus is full of speed breakers so BE CAUTIOUS while driving.
  • Placements:

The Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the faculty of engineering and technology of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), has a strong placement record. Here are some highlights based on the latest data:

  1. About 85% of the total eligible students of the 2021 graduating batch were placed in top companies.
  2. Around 30% of the batch received job offers during Day Zero Dream Campus Drive with an average annual CTC of 6.3 Lakh.
  3. The highest CTC offered was 30 Lakh per annum by Amazon1.
  4. More than 90 companies participated in the campus recruitment drive at ITER.
  5. Microsoft extended career opportunities to nine students from SOA, which is the highest in eastern India for that year.
  6. Consulting major Deloitte committed to premium category selection with a significant CTC.
  7. A reputed digital marketing corporation, Mediamint, showed interest in recruiting a sizeable number of talents from SOA.

These statistics demonstrate the institute’s commitment to ensuring its students are well-prepared for their future careers.

Things to Note here:

  1. College only allows students having a CGPA of more than 75-80% to sit in the placement cell.
  2. Most students are hired by companies like WIPRO, TCS, and INFOSYS with an average package lying around 3-5 lacs per annum.

FACT: Considering the syllabus and the support from teachers I found that it is not hard to score in exams but due to casual behavior and carelessness, many students deteriorate their CGPA.

Admission Procedure:

  • Criteria to be satisfied:
  1. A Student must secure a minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 12th boards and 60% in Science and Mathematics in 10th boards.
  2. If you fail to satisfy there still lies the option for a subject swap like Chemistry can be changed to Physical Education or a similar subject and Science can be with similar sounding issue.
  3. For lateral entry to the B.Tech course, candidates should have at least 40% marks in class 10 with a diploma in Engineering
  • Ways to take Admission:
  1. You can take the SAAT exam to get a seat in ITER, the exam is relatively easy.
  2. Try to sit in the 1st phase as soon as possible coz. the 1st phase makes the cutoff and most students can easily qualify for this round, but from 2nd phase, the cutoff rises to 60-90%ile, and in 3rd phase, it is nearly 90-95%ile which is hard to achieve but achievable.
  3. The 2nd way is via. JEE exam whose details are not properly available, so do contact the Campus Administration.
