Deutsche Bank Interview Experience for Graduate Analyst 2024

Deutsche Bank recently visited our campus to hire graduate analysts on 27th July 2024.

Round 1 Online Round ( 90 min): It happened on 22 July 2024 It consisted of three coding questions. There were one easy and 2 medium-level coding questions.

44 students got selected in this round.

The students who cleared the online round were invited to the PPT, which took place in college.2 members of the organization briefed us about the work culture, compensation, and related details.

Round 2- Technical Interview I (60min): It happened to be a virtual interview process that took place in the college itself. Following were the questions he asked :

  • Project discussion.
  • Arrange the array in odd and even elements with and without using extra space.
  • Arrange all odd elements on one side and even on one side with and without using extra space.
  • How to find a loop in a linked list and starting element of loop of linked list.
  • what is the Dijktras Algorithm code for it and where it fails?
  • What is friend class in oops and why do we use it?
  • importance of encapsulation.
  • What is polymorphism?
  • What is Round robin scheduling Algorithm and how it is different from other scheduling algorithms?
  • What is Sjf pre-emptive scheduling algorithm?
  • One puzzle is asked which is- There are 25 horses among which you need to find out the fastest 3 horses. You can conduct a race among at most 5 to find out their relative speed. At no point, you can find out the actual speed of the horse in a race. Find out the minimum no. of races that are required to get the top 3 horses.
  • ACID properties in dbms.
  • Why do we need normalization in dbms?
  • At last, he said that he would have asked sql queries if time had permitted.

Finally, he said I am done, he asked do you have any questions? I asked 2–3 and it ended up. After 2 hours, the results were announced and 27 students were moved to the 3rd technical round which happened on the same day.

Round 3- Technical Interview II (50min): 

  • Again in-depth discussion on projects.
  • Merge sort algorithm.
  • What is Backtracking (I explained using the Fibonacci series).
  • What is a graph and how we can implement it using an adjacency list and matrix code for them?
  • Design the OSI model and TCP model and write differences between them and explain the working of each layer.
  • What are ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) and MAC?
  • Difference between layer 2 and layer 3 switches?
  • Difference between Router and Bridge.
  • Why you have used MongoDB in the project and what is the other Nosql database which you can use instead of this?
  • What is SQL Injection?
  • SQL vs NoSQL.
  • Scaling and types and where we use horizontal scaling.

After 1 hour results were declared and 22 students were moved on to the next round.

Round 4- Professional Fitness round — Technical + HR(40min):  At first, he introduced himself and then asked me:

  • Project discussion.
  • Coding profile details as I have mentioned on my resume.
  • Smart India hackathon project details (resume specific).
  • A situation where I am a leader and I have to take a harsh decision against my decision.
  • Engineer without Borders club details (again because I have mentioned it in my resume).
  • A situational question: If I am the team leader of team A and my team can’t start working until team B has completed their project and the deadline is of a week. Now if team B has not delivered the project by the deadline what should I do in this condition?
  • What is the best and worst part of your college?

Round 5- HR Round(15 min): The questions asked me were.

  • Why do you want to join DB?
  • About my family background.
  • Most stressful condition in my life and how I dealt with it?
  • A situation where I have worked as a team leader.

A total of 18 students from the 4th year were selected. I am happy that I was one of them.

Verdict: Selected.

Tips

  • Mention only those projects and subjects in your resume that you know very well because they will ask in-depth questions from them.
