I recently gave an interview with Tata Technologies for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee. It is a functional and support role. There are totals of 4 rounds.

Round 1: Round 1 was held on CoCubes. The test had a total of 2 sections with 30 questions each and 30 minutes to solve each section. Section 1 included questions from aptitude, English, and general knowledge. Section 2 had technical questions from CG, DS, DBMS, OS, CN, SQL.

Round 2: This round was a kind of managerial round where they will ask you if you are ready to relocate, can work in rotational shifts, are willing to work on weekends, can work on client site.

Round 3: This round was a technical round. The interviewer was really friendly. He asked me to introduce myself and then asked me to explain my project. Then he asked me basic questions related to DBMS and some situation based questions.

  1. What is DBMS?
  2. What is RDBMS?
  3. Difference between DDL and DML.
  4. Tell me about CRM.
  5. What do you understand from the business analysis?
  6. What do you know about the company?
  7. Some situation based questions.

Round 4:This round is the HR round where they will discuss the package, location where you would be working, get to know more about you and your role in the company.

Key Take-Away: Before any interview give some time to know about the company, the sector they function in, what role would you be working in. If like, in this case, you get a chance to have a managerial round before the technical round ask them what could be your roles and responsibilities this could give you a better insight of what to expect in the interview(Though the interviewer may choose not to answer).

The whole process could take 1-2 weeks.
