Hello all,

I am a student at YMCA Faridabad College, currently studying in my 5th semester of Information and Technology course. I took admission to this college in 2021 after putting a lot of effort into JEE Exam. This is a Tier-2 college. There is a keen interest in taking admission to this college. Most of the people of Faridabad know very well the name of the YMCA. In this article, I will share my experience till my 5th semester.

  • First Year: Some part of my first year went online, because during that time pandemic of Coronavirus was still there. The classes on those days were taking place on Google Meet. Each day teachers send links for their classes and then take attendance. That part of college was boring. The initial time of college is considered as for exploring opportunities and we were playing with Google Meet links in those days lol. Alike other colleges the first year contains the basic subjects of all branches. Which were compulsory for all the students for the first year. Subjects were the same for all first-year students irrespective of their branch.
  • Second Year: From starting the second year, we can say that the college was completely offline, and Corona was also reducing its effect. We were giving offline exams for the first time. Before that, all of the exams and tests were offline and MCQs based. One can easily pass by using unfair means. During that online season, Students took advantage of the online system. They pass the tests with high scores by mass cheating and maintain more than decent CGPA. But now, college were offline, we don’t have such advantages lol. In the second year, our core subjects were started. The teachers are really hard-working and helpful. They are ready to help anytime. They also reply to genuine questions on online platforms like WhatsApp or official subject groups.
  • Third Year: I am in currently in my 5th semester, which is just started some days ago. So there is not much experience to tell. Yet I can say that the difficulty of subjects is increasing and increasing till the 6th semester. After that in the 7th semester, the placement season begins. So, students need to prepare for placements in all of their 3rd year.

Placement: The placement of the YMCA is very good. Most of the tech giants like Amazon, Samsung, adobe, Media.net, and Jusay hire students every year through campus drives. The average package of CS, IT is around 9-10 LPA. While the highest packages are provided by the organizations like Amazon, and Media.net with packages of 28 LPA and 38.5 LPA respectively.

The college infrastructure is not good, and the campus is also small. But these negative points can be unseen with handsome placement records. The placement percentage of CS, IT students is around 80-90%.
