Valtech visited our campus on the 28th of October for recruiting freshers for the role of associate software developer.

The hiring process consisted of an online assessment round and interviews.

Online Assessment: It consisted of questions from all the core subjects of Computer Science and Aptitude. This round was basically divided into 11 different sections which include verbal, cognitive, reasoning, and a couple of questions from Microservices, OS, DBMS, Data Structures, and Java. The online assessment round was conducted on Mettl platform.

Received interview invite within next couple of days for Technical discussion. The technical discussion went up to approximately 45 minutes.

  • The interviewer was very friendly and he introduced himself initially and then he asked for my introduction.
  • Right after the introduction he straightaway jumped into Project.
  • For the first 20-25 minutes the interviewer kept asking in-depth questions related to my project.
  • He asked about the different technologies I had used in my project,
  • Why did I opt for a particular technology,
  • What alternate technologies can be used, use case of the project?

In the next part of the interview, the interviewer gave me a question and asked me to code it.

  • The question was pretty simple and the question was to print a particular string 100 times without using any sort of loops, this can be done using Recursion which was the logic behind the question.
  • In the next part of the discussion, the interviewer quickly asked questions related to Data Structures.

On the whole, the interview lasted for up to 45 minutes. There was no HR round for the students selected in the Technical discussion round who was offered the role of Associate Software Developer.

Tips:

  • Most of the questions in the interview would revolve around the project so it’s very much important to have a really good knowledge of the project.
  • It’s important to have good programming knowledge.
  • Mention only those stuff in your resume that you can explain well as the rest of the questions would be from your resume.
