UTAH Tech Labs visited our Campus, Techno International Newtown, on August 1, 2023. It was a pool placement drive for Techno India Group, so all the colleges under Techno India Group took part in this campus drive.

About the company:

UTL is basically a service-based company, but not like other service-based mass recruiter companies, it won’t waste your time managing other people’s products, UTL is completely focused on developing new software, iOS, apps, and IOT and AI/ML technologies. This company helps others automate their businesses by providing software solutions, so as a fresher, you’ll get a lot of exposure and learn a lot about the industry. If your vision is software development, then this company is for you.

  • Recruitment Process:
  • Round 1: Aptitude and Computer Fundamentals (OMR test)
  • Round 2: 1st Technical Round
  • Round 3: 2nd Technical Round
  • Round 4: HR Round

Round 1: You’ve to be physically present for this round, there was 30 questions that we had to solve within 45 minutes: 15 aptitude and logical reasoning questions and 15 computer fundamental questions.
Tip: If your fundamentals are clear, you can score 15 out of 15 in the fundamental part, most of the questions were from OS, CN, DBMS, and OOPs. If you keep practicing apti, and logical reasoning regularly, then the apti part also will be a cakewalk for you.

CUT OFF: approximately 21 out of 30

Difficulty: Easy to medium

there were 500 students who sit for this round, and 21 were selected for the next round including me.

Round 2: It was a 30-minute long interview round, firstly the interviewer keep asking questions about my Projects and tools used in the projects, then he started asking questions from DBMS(Basic to Medium level SQL Queries), Web technologies(Cookies, Sessions), CN(DNS, IP), DSA Questions(Reverse a string, Draw a pattern), JavaScript(onClick, getText functions).

Tip: Be confident, Don’t be silent and shy, and brush up on your basics

Difficulty: Easy (Though according to my some friends, difficulty was medium).

7 out of 21 were selected for the next round, including me.

Round 3: It was the toughest round in the whole interview process, there were 3 interviewers, and after 30 minutes 2 interviewer was replaced by another 2 new interviewers, It was a 45-minute long interview process, and they asked a lot of cross-questions, and mostly form C, Cpp, Java, DSA, OOPs. They will check all your fundamentals and your problem-solving abilities. 60% of the questions were theoretical and 40% of questions were fully conceptual, they will even try to check your confidence level by confusing you with your answer.

Tip: Same as Round 2

Difficulty: medium to hard

2 including me out of 7 got selected for the final round.

Round 4: It was an approximately 30 minutes long interview, all the basics HR questions were asked (For example: Strengths, weakness, vision, what do you know about the company and have you checked our websites(Ma’am was very impressed with my answer and that time, I was 99% sure about my selection), toughest time in college, good time, inspiration, who inspired you to take CSE, is this my first interview ) there was a lot of questions but most of the time, it was discussion based, I was telling about my life and academic journey and at the end ma’am tell a bit about the company culture, will I be able to handle the pressure along with my academics, as the joining date of the company was Aug/Sep, 2023 and at that time our 7th semester was going on, at the end I asked ma’am about my performance, she told my score in the first round which was 23 out of 30 and told me “You’ve already passed two interviews, two hurdles, and that’s why you’re sitting here, so be Confident!”

After waiting for 2 hours more, the result was declared: 2 students, including me, were hired! It was the first placement from our college, so I was so excited and happy with that opportunity that I can’t even express it. It is a lifetime experience to get the first placement in your college.

Good Luck!!!
