Safarnama Cultural Fest Experience

The Alumni Meet Come Fest of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Netaji Subhash Engineering College is one of the most coveted events of the year. Safarnama gives you an opportunity to come back to your second home, your Alma Mater….. that sanctuary from where it all started. It brings you back to the very place where you spent the forever cherishable four magical years of your life, a time that you wouldn’t want to forget. It’s time to dive into the bittersweet musings of the bygone days. Safarnama also gives a platform to the lilting thrushes and brings out the danseuses from among the budding engineers of tomorrow.

This fest generally happens in the month of May. And we were the organizer of the event for two years(2022 and 2023). This fest helped me to organize events starting from team management to food distribution, managing stage sound light, public speaking and that’s also in front of 1000 people, communicating with new people, how to deal with sponsors, and convenience them for sponsorship. After all, it helped me to make some new friends from my own department, whom I didn’t know before the event.

It’s a cultural fest, a stage to give you a chance to showcase your talent in dance, singing, fashion shows, and rap under one roof. We are blessed to have such talented students in our department that they made this event so good and grand. We had solo dance, and group dance, along with classical and western dance, solo music, group music, hip-hop dance, and lastly the most awaited program fashion show. We had two band performances and a DJ. Now coming to the food, that was really good. we had both veg and non-veg platter, so there was no problem with that.

As a cultural lead, I had to participate and guide my juniors and teammates, also I had to take auditions for different categories like dance, music, and fashion show. And then start the journey of rehearsal to make them able to confident on the stage. Apart from these, I was the decoration team lead, so as a decoration lead, I had to design how the department would be decorated, the stage, the ground, and the other places. So it was a great journey that I have shared with my fellow teammates and juniors.
