Spring Fest and Kshitij IIT Kharagpur Fest Experience

After three long years of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was excited to participate in the annual fests at IIT Kharagpur, Kshitij, and Spring Fest. These fests are known for celebrating talent, and creativity, and providing a platform for students from all over the country to showcase their skills.

At Kshitij, I was eager to participate in the robot-fighting competition. My friends and I spent countless hours in the robotics lab, meticulously designing and building our formidable fighting robot. The thrill of testing and tweaking our robot’s performance was unmatched. The camaraderie among participants, the technical discussions, and the friendly rivalries added an extra layer of excitement. We also participated in the RC car-making competition, brainstorming innovative designs, selecting the best components, and carefully assembling our RC car. Witnessing our creation speeding through the track during the competition filled us with immense pride and a sense of accomplishment.

During Spring Fest, the campus transformed into a vibrant carnival of music, dance, and art. Famous singers and bands, such as Sunidhi Chauhan, Shilpa Rao, and King, graced the stage, mesmerizing the crowd with their soulful and energetic performances. The atmosphere was electric as students from all backgrounds and cultures came together to enjoy the festivities.

One of the most memorable experiences during Spring Fest was interacting with participants from different colleges. We attended a plethora of events, from dance-offs to stand-up comedy shows, and engaged in discussions about our passions and interests. These interactions opened up new perspectives and led to lasting friendships.

As part of the Kshitij fest, there was a special guest speaker event where Ashneer Grover, the successful entrepreneur and founder of a prominent startup, was invited to share his insights on startups and college life. His talk was inspirational and motivational, as he shared his journey from being a college student with big dreams to becoming a successful entrepreneur in the business world. Ashneer’s words resonated with aspiring entrepreneurs and students alike, providing valuable lessons and guidance on navigating the challenges of both college life and the startup ecosystem.

Overall, the experience at Kshitij and Spring Fest in 2023 was unforgettable. It not only allowed me to showcase my skills and passion for robotics but also exposed me to a melting pot of art, culture, and creativity. After the long hiatus due to the pandemic, these fests served as a rejuvenating and invigorating celebration of life, talent, and the indomitable spirit of the youth. The inclusion of such talented singers and a distinguished guest speaker like Ashneer Grover added a whole new dimension to the fest, showcasing a perfect blend of entertainment, knowledge, and inspiration. It made the 2023 edition of Kshitij and Spring Fest at IIT Kharagpur truly unforgettable for everyone in attendance.
