I recently went through the interview process at Oracle, which comprised three rounds: two technical and one HR. This experience gave me a comprehensive understanding of the company’s expectations and culture.

Round 1: Technical Deep Dive

The initial technical round began with a discussion about my college projects, specifically focusing on my work in vertical farming and smart irrigation. I elaborated on the sensors utilized, methods of data storage, and the process of data analysis. The interviewer was particularly interested in the types of sensors I had worked with and their characteristics.

Moving on, we explored my internships, which were centred around Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies. I shared the software I had used and the technical insights gained during these experiences. I provided examples of how AR and VR could revolutionize daily life, such as with AR navigation and VR simulations for architectural planning.

To conclude the round, I was given a coding question: to swap two values without utilizing a third variable. I presented several methods to accomplish this task and explained the code thoroughly.

Round 2: Technical Proficiency Assessment

The second technical round, scheduled based on my performance in the first round, was more challenging. I was asked to share my screen and solve various coding problems, including creating a specific star pattern and printing numbers in reverse order. The interviewer also tested my theoretical knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, asking for definitions and real-life examples of terms like Polymorphism and Inheritance.

In the SQL segment, I was tasked with writing a query to select the maximum date from a given table. Additionally, the interviewer posed several HR-related questions, such as inquiring about my interests, strengths, and weaknesses. They also asked how my current skills could be applied at Oracle, to which I emphasized my ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.

Round 3: HR Alignment

The HR round was a fruitful discussion about my long-term goals, strengths, weaknesses, and plans for self-improvement. I expressed my eagerness to learn and my commitment to acquiring new skills that would align with Oracle’s technology stack.

Conclusion

My interview experience with Oracle was enlightening and enriching. It provided me with a platform to showcase my skills and learn more about the company’s values and expectations. I am excited about the opportunity to potentially join Oracle and contribute to its innovative work culture.
