I arrived at the Microsoft campus early in the morning and was greeted by the friendly receptionist who directed me to the interview room. I was excited, yet nervous about the upcoming interviews.

Round 1: Technical Interview

My first interview was a technical interview with a senior SDE from the team I would be joining. The interviewer began by introducing himself and then asked me to introduce myself. He then proceeded to ask me several coding and design questions. The questions were challenging, and I had to think through them carefully. The interviewer was patient and provided hints when necessary. The interview lasted for 45 minutes.

Round 2: Behavioral Interview

My second interview was a behavioral interview with the hiring manager. The interviewer asked me several questions about my previous work experience, how I handled conflicts with team members, and how I managed deadlines. The interviewer was friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the interview. The interview lasted for 30 minutes.

Round 3: Technical Interview

My third interview was a technical interview with another senior SDE. The questions were more advanced than in the first interview, but I was able to solve most of them. The interviewer was impressed with my coding abilities and asked me to walk him through my thought process. The interview lasted for 60 minutes.

Round 4: Design Interview

My fourth interview was a design interview with a principal SDE from the team. The interviewer presented me with a complex problem and asked me to design a scalable and fault-tolerant solution. I had to consider several factors, including data consistency, availability, and latency. The interviewer provided feedback on my design, and we had a productive discussion about possible trade-offs. The interview lasted for 90 minutes.

Round 5: Hiring Manager Interview

My final interview was a wrap-up interview with the hiring manager. The interviewer asked me about my overall experience, what I thought about the team and the company, and if I had any questions. I asked several questions about the team’s culture, development process, and growth opportunities. The interview lasted for 30 minutes.

Overall, the interview experience was challenging yet enjoyable. The interviewers were knowledgeable and professional, and they made me feel at ease. After a few days, I received a call from the recruiter, and I was thrilled to hear that I had received an offer for the SDE role at Microsoft.
