Microsoft Interview Experience for Software Engineer IC2

I got to know about the opening from Linkedin jobs; they were hiring candidates from 6 months experience to 3 years experience in this role. I got a referral from one of the Microsoft company employees and even shared my resume with the manager of the hiring team. In a few days I got the interview invite it was a one-day drive(virtual) it goes like this:

Tech round 1 [1 hr]

The interviewer asked 2 DSA questions, one on the music player system [approach discussed] and another on the next greater element. Questions asked were easy to medium level. After the approach discussion is successful, the implementation of the question is done.

Tech round 2 [1 hr]

The interviewer asked 2 DSA questions, one on asteroid collision [Leetcode 735] and another on finding peak elements covering all edge and corner cases. The interviewer in between interviews was giving hints to help in the code to work for every case.

After the response of the first 2 rounds, the system design and HRM round gets scheduled. Overall, you can expect an easy-medium level of questions in Microsoft interviews. The interviewers were quite friendly. All the very best!
