IIIT Bhopal Admission Experience

My journey of taking admission in IIIT Bhopal during the last phase of the COVID-19 pandemic was an experience filled with both excitement and challenges. The world was slowly reopening, yet the remnants of the pandemic were still present, necessitating precautions and adjustments in every aspect of life.

When I received the news that I had been allotted a seat in IIIT Bhopal through the JoSAA counseling process, my excitement knew no bounds. It was a significant milestone, the culmination of years of hard work and determination. However, the circumstances were unique due to the ongoing pandemic. The first semester was announced to be conducted online, a decision made in the interest of safety and health. This presented a mix of relief and disappointment – relief that we wouldn’t be risking our health by attending in-person classes, but also a tinge of disappointment as I looked forward to the traditional college experience.

The process of submitting all the necessary documents for admission was entirely online, reflecting the changing dynamics of education and technology. While the virtual aspect was convenient, it lacked the personal touch and the excitement of physically visiting the campus and interacting with fellow students.

As the first semester progressed, the situation gradually improved, and it became apparent that the second semester would involve physical attendance at the college. However, a new challenge emerged – the allocation of hostels. To my surprise, the hostel assigned to us was located in the RGPV campus, a considerable 20 kilometers away from the main IIIT Bhopal campus at MANIT. This posed a logistical challenge, requiring us to wake up early and travel a significant distance daily to attend classes. The commute was a source of concern and fatigue, impacting the overall experience of college life.

Seeking solutions, I delved into researching more about IIIT Bhopal, its campus, and facilities. While I had anticipated a rich environment with state-of-the-art resources, I realized that the reality was a bit different. IIIT Bhopal was confined to a part of NTB, a teaching block of the MANIT campus. The facilities were more limited than I had initially thought, and the distance between the hostel and the campus only added to the challenges.

Despite these obstacles, I found solace in the companionship of my fellow students who were navigating the same situation. We formed bonds over shared struggles and aspirations, finding strength in unity. Over time, I adapted to the routine, adjusted to the commute, and focused on my studies.

My admission experience at IIIT Bhopal during the unique circumstances of the pandemic taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of making the best of any situation. While the challenges were undeniable, they also shaped me in unexpected ways, preparing me to face the uncertainties of the future with a positive attitude and a determination to overcome obstacles.
