School of Information Technology (SoIT Bhopal) – Admission Experience

School of Information Technology, RGPV, Bhopal (or SoIT for short) is a Madhya-Pradesh State Government’s Higher Education Institute situated in RGPV University campus in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (India). This article provides details about the courses provided and admission in the institute.

Courses offered at SoIT

Three B.Tech courses and two M.Tech Courses are provided by the institute.

Note: Students may be eligible to various scholarships which effectively reduces their fees. A large part of the students in active batches are eligible.

Admission in B.Tech Courses

Eligibility

Any student fulfilling the following criteria is eligible to apply for admission in the institute –

1. Completed school education in a 10+2 system from any recognized board within India.
2. Studied Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in senior-secondary.
3. Is eligible to apply for JEE-Mains.

Admission Process

There are two possible options for taking admissions – MP-DTE Counselling & CLC (College Level Counselling) discussed below –

1. MP-DTE Counselling

This is a state-level counselling conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Department of Technical Education for admission in various undergraduate courses offered by participating institutes within the state based on applicant’s JEE-Mains Score.

Following steps are involved –

1. After you obtain your JEE Mains scorecard, apply for the MP-DTE Counselling when its portal starts accepting applications.
2. Select the institute (School of Information Technology, RGPV, Bhopal (University owned institute)) based on your priority while choice filling.
3. If the institute is allotted to you, physically reach out to the institute on date and time and with documents given in the allotment letter.
4. Complete the document work there and pay the fees as instructed to complete the admission process.

2. CLC (College Level Counselling)

If any seats are vacant after the MP-DTE Counselling rounds, students can physically reach out to the institute with relevant documents (like 10th-12th Mark-sheets, Transfer-Certificate, JEE-Scorecard (if available), Gap-Certificate(if-required), Caste-Certificate (if-required), etc.) to participate in admission process.

Admission in B.Tech Courses through Lateral Entry

If any seats are vacant in B.Tech course(s) at the beginning of second year, students who have any B.Sc., Polytechnique, etc. degree can physically appear in the institute to take admission in course(s) through the process called lateral entry.

Admission in M.Tech Courses

Admission in M.Tech Course can be taken through GATE Score.
