Rewa Engineering College (RGPV Bhopal) Admission Experience

Hello everyone! I would like to share my admission experience that how I get admission to a Govt. Engineering College in Madhya Pradesh.

I enrolled in the BTech Computer Science branch at the Govt Engineering College, Rewa. It is a Public institute which is an autonomous college affiliated with RGPV University, Bhopal, and approved by UGC and listed under NIRF, many Government and Private Engineering colleges in MP are affiliated with RGPV. I applied for counseling in the MPDTE portal and after following the guided procedure I got a seat in this college and completed the graduation.

So as admission to any Engineering College, We have to do counseling, and the MP BE/BTech Counselling is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) in Madhya Pradesh, in this process through which candidates can secure admission to undergraduate engineering courses participating institutes across the state. Admission to these colleges will be based on the candidates’ JEE Main scores and their performance in the qualifying examination (class 10+2). During the counseling process, candidates are required to select their preferred branches and colleges. DTE will create separate merit lists for JEE Main and Class 12th qualified candidates. Seats will be allocated to candidates based on the MP BE merit list through the counseling process.

I got admission on the basis of my JEE Mains rank and it is difficult and rare to get admission in Govt College on a 10+2 result basis as all seats are fulfilled by the applicant who appeared in JEE Mains. It is essential to calculate and understand rank and cut-off to fill the right choices while applying for admission. If you have a not good JEE rank under 2L rank it is hard to get into the Computer Science branch in the Govt Colleges and probably there will be harder to get admission in the Computer Science branch in low ranks as it is trending in this time. I would like to share the eligibility criteria and admission process regarding this.

Eligibility

Nationality	Aspirants should be an Indian National
Entrance Exam	Aspirants must have a valid JEE Main rank to be eligible to apply
Academic qualification	Aspirants must General category aspirants should have secured at least 45% marks in their 10+2. SC or ST category aspirants should have secured at least 40% marks in their 10+2. Aspirants must have Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects in their 10+2. The optional subjects which the candidates can have in 10+2 are Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or Computer Science.
Domicile	Aspirants must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh

Few Seats in every branch of every college are reserved for other states’, JEE Mains aspirants.

The MP BE Counselling process is as follows:

1. Registration: Candidates need to register online on the official website of MP BE Counselling.
2. Choice Filling: After registration, candidates will log in and select their preferred colleges and courses.
3. Merit List Declaration: A merit list for MP BE/BTech Counselling will be released every year based on the applicant rank, considering eligibility and seat availability in Madhya Pradesh colleges/institutes.
4. Seat Allotment Letter: Once the merit list is out, seat allotment letters will be issued for the general pool and TFW categories. The first round of seat up-gradation will begin.
5. Document Verification: After receiving the seat allotment letter, candidates must have their documents verified by the authorities.
6. Reporting to the Allotted Institute: After document verification, candidates need to report to the allotted institute to secure their final admission.
