There are some very simple steps we can follow in the Google Maps desktop version if we want to add stops following other steps to add a stop in Google Maps desktop:

Step 1: Visit the Google Maps Website

Go to the official website of Google Maps and find the option of Search Google Maps which enables us to search for a location.

Step 1: Turn on the GPS

Go to GPS on your device. In some devices, this option is named location. Turn this on.

Open the Google Maps application and search for the destination address in the search bar. Once you have selected the place you will be able to see a pin icon available on top of the place’s map.

Click on the directions button and it will redirect to an interface that will allow us to choose the start location.

Now in the start address, we have to add our location. After this, you have multiple routes available to reach from the start location to the destination location of your choice.

Step 5: Click on Three Dots and Select Add Stop

Click on the three dots given at the top right corner. A drop-down will open, from it click on the Add Stops option.

Step 6: Add the Stop to the Route

Select the location you want to add as a stop. You can select by clicking on the location from the selected route. Now, Click on the button that says add a stop and the stop will be added before the destination.

How to Add Multiple Stops in Google Maps

• If I want to add more stops now then all I have to do is click on the location and then click on the add to the stop button.click on the added stop and then it will automatically be added to my trip. In this way you can add multiple stops.

Note: The method that I have used above will also apply if you are using the ios platform instead of the Android platform all the steps mentioned in this article are same for both the ios as well as the android with just some minor changes in the UI.

Is There a Way to Add More Than 10 Stops on Google Maps

Though it’s not possible to add more than 10 stops officially in Google Maps, it is still possible to add more than 10 stops in Google Maps by making some changes to the URL. By default, the URL can contain up to 8 stops and if want to add more than 10 stops in it then we can simply merge two or more URLs and then we’ll be able to add more than 10 stops in the Google Maps.

If you want to add more than 10 stops in the Google map then it is not possible because Google Maps only allows you to add up to 8 stops in a particular route from the start to the destination address. but it is still possible to add more than 10 stops in Google Maps If we change the URL of the current Google Maps let’s understand how it works:

Note: This method only works up to 25 stops. We can add up to 8 stops at once.

As we know we cannot add more than 10 stops at once in Google Maps we can use the following method to change the URL a bit which will enable us to add up to 25 stops on the map.

1. Copy the URL of the current Google map which has the start address the destination address, and up to 8 stops, and then we will paste it into the notepad as you can see in the image below:
