GlobalLogic Interview Experience for Trainee Software Engineer (On-Campus)

Recently, GlobalLogic visited our campus for full-time Trainee Software Engineer recruitment. There was one online assessment round followed by 3 interview rounds (1 Tech, 1 Managerial, 1 HR).

Round 1: Online Assessment

The first round consists of MCQs based on aptitude and logical reasoning and 2 programming questions. The first question is about Dynamic Programming and the second is about Hashmap. The duration was 124 minutes.

After the online assessment round, 29 students were selected for interview rounds.

Round 2: Technical Interview Round

• Introduce yourself.
• You’re an electronics student, so tell me about Microprocessor.
• Difference between compiler and interpreter, which one is faster and which generates a .exe file.
• Which operating system are you currently using? Have you used any operating systems other than this? (I replied Linux) Tell me some Linux commands you remember.
• In your opinion, which one is better, Intel or Ryzen?
• Write an infinite do-while loop.
• Write a program to reverse the digits of an integer.
• Write a program to swap two numbers without using a third variable.
• What are the types of mapping cardinality? Explain one-to-one and one-to-many.
• What is Normalisation and Types of Normal Forms? Explain BCNF.
• Explain DDL, DML, and DCL with examples. What is the difference between Truncate and Delete, and in which case rollback is possible?
• What are abstract classes and virtual functions?colour
• What is a constructor, what should its name be, and what is its return type? Should it be called explicitly, or is it called by default?
• There are 10 black socks and 2 white socks in a drawer. Socks of the same color are identical but there is no light in the room. So, the task is to find the minimum number of socks to be drawn at random to be sure that he/she gets the pair of socks of the same colour.

• You have given a sequence, find the next number-

• What are your hobbies? (Also ask questions related to hobbies.)
• You have a function at your home, but there is a fight between your cousin and your best friend. Who will you invite and why?
• Any questions that you would like to ask?

Round 3: Managerial Round

• Introduce yourself.
• You have six glasses in a row, with the first three filled and the next three empty. Your task is to swap them only once so that the empty and full glasses are arranged alternately.

• In a room, there are three light bulbs and a closed door. Outside the room, three switches are connected to the bulbs. You have the freedom to manipulate the switches as needed, but once the door is opened, you cannot make any further changes. All the bulbs are operational, and you are allowed to open the door only once. Your task is to determine the connection of each switch to its respective bulb.

After the managerial round, 18 students were selected for HR rounds.

Round 4: HR Round

• Give your brief introduction.
• Tell me about your family background.

Finally, 11 students were selected for the full-time role in GlobalLogic.
