GeeksforGeeks Interview Experience for SEO Intern

Hello Geeks,

In July 2023, GeeksforGeeks announced hiring for the SEO Intern role for their office in Noida. I applied for it by sharing my profile on the given mail ID.

The next day, I received a call informing me that my profile had been shortlisted for the first round of the interview, and my interview was scheduled for the same evening.

The interview process consisted of two rounds and a Assignment aimed at assessing my technical knowledge, and compatibility with the company’s values and culture.

First Round:

The first round of the interview was scheduled for 30 minutes. I introduced myself and received some questions related to SEO and content writing.

The interviewer asked me the following questions:

• What is SEO, and why do we need it?
• Can you share the links to the articles you have written?
• What are the factors that contribute to ranking articles/content on a web page?
• How did you rank your articles to make them visible on top?
• Explain meta-tags, backlinks, and internal links, and also how to add space between words in HTML.
• Describe the difference between a line break (<br>) and a non-breaking space ( ).
• Why do you want to become an SEO intern?
• Then he asked me to open an unranked article from GeeksforGeeks and questioned why this article is not ranking on the web page.
• Name some SEO tools that can be helpful. I provided a few, and the interviewer mentioned more tools like Google Search Console.
• At last, the interviewer asked if I had any questions, and I inquired about the importance of writing content when AI tools can generate it. He answered my question appropriately and wished me Good Luck.

Verdict: Selected.

After the first round, I received an SEO Assignment on my email and was to complete it in two days. I completed the assignment before the deadline and was selected for the second round of interviews.

Second Round:

The second round of the interview was scheduled for 30 minutes. I introduced myself and received some advanced questions related to SEO and content writing.

The interviewer asked me the following questions:

• He asked me about my approach from scratch before writing any articles or blogs.
• He asked me about the articles and categories of articles I have written.
• Then he inquired about on-page optimization factors.
• Additionally, he questioned me about backlinks and internal links, along with their significance.
• He also asked how I can make my articles visible to a larger number of readers.

  At last, he wished me luck.

Verdict: Selected.

HR Round:

In the HR round, they asked me to introduce myself and about my availability for an in-office internship.
