GeeksforGeeks Work Experience as Technical Content Writer Intern

Introduction:

I was studying for my college exams and some points were missing in my textbook so I went to Google and search for it then the first search result was from the geeksforgeeks portal every time. I thought other geeks can write an article so I also can. So applied for an internship after writing some articles and it was 3 months of internship with a stipend. So in this article, I’m going to share my work experience of my internship at geeksforgeeks.

Company Description and Profile:

GeeksforGeeks is a portal for computer science students for Computer Science Subjects like DSA, Operating Systems, DBMS, Computer Networks, and many more. It provides video courses as well on these subjects which helps to geeks to enhance there skills. My role into this portal was Technical Content Writer Intern for 3 months.

My key responsibilities as a technical content writer are:

As a technical content writer, my role was to create informative and engaging articles to increase my deep knowledge of the subject of computer science. I wrote articles mainly on operating systems, cloud computing, javascript, java, and some other subjects as well. I have a responsibility to write an article in such a way as to explain the complex concept in a simpler manner to understand easily.

Workflow:

After studying the concept of a topic which I want to write is completed I write the articles and then submitted to the portal. After some days team reviews its content and publishes it if there are no changes needed. But if there are any changes then they communicate with us and tell the review on that part where changes need to be applied. After the suggested changes are done by me then I again submit it to the portal and then they publish the articles on the portal.

Learnings and Scopes:

I learn to many things such as how to convert our learning into the article format in such a way that everyone can understand. I learn to research the topic on which I have to write article, how to merge all information of researched website into single article and deliver to the geeks. Which keywords need to use to give the title of the article to rank our article on the top result. I improved my writing communication through this internship. So in future when I will have work with making documentation these practices definitely will help me in future.

Conclusion:

This internship helped me to increase my writing skill and research skill. This internship was paid so I got stipend also which I used for my educational purpose.
