In January 2024, Finastra visited our campus for FULL -TIME Associate Software Engineer role at their Pune Office.

ROUND 1:

The following month, they had a Coding test, consisting of three coding questions to be solved only in ANGULAR, which I successfully cleared.

ROUND 2:

Subsequently, they shortlisted students for the Aptitude test (CCAT) (which I also cleared), the test was lengthy and they had very little time.

ROUND 3:

Followed by a resume shortlisting round (which I also passed).

With these three rounds completed, they released a shortlist of 70 students out of nearly 250 students for interviews at their office in mid-March.

ROUND 4:

The interview process primarily focused on assessing candidates for the role of a JAVA developer. Consequently, the interview questions mainly revolved around Core Java concepts.

My technical interview experience was positive. It commenced with introductions and inquiries about my background. Despite my specialization in Electronics and Telecommunication, my skills in Computer Science impressed the interviewers. They asked about my projects, particularly focusing on one involving JDBC integration, requesting an oral explanation of the code.

Additionally, they asked me SQL queries, DSA questions (such as deleting the last node from a linked list and reversing an array), Core Java questions covering various topics, and questions related to Object-Oriented Programming.

Following the interviews, they selected 18 students out of 70, and fortunately, I was among them. However, the selection process didn’t end there.

ROUND 5:

30-minute PowerPoint presentation round, conducted online by a member of the Talent Acquisition team. We were presented with a problem statement and given 15 minutes to prepare a presentation, followed by a 10-minute presentation and 5 minutes for questions. I performed well in this round, anticipating positive results.

Unfortunately, after a week, the results were announced, and only 15 out of the initial 18 students were selected, and I was not among them.
