Note: Excess heating issue of the processor might come from the hardware viewpoint. So, check that issue also. There are many cases where the hardware problem is the issue behind processor malfunction So, in hardware-related issues, refer to any technician to correctly resolve those problems. Trying to solve those issues with own efforts might be harmful. But, if the processor is heating due to some software-related issue. Then follow the steps mentioned-below.

Method 1: Changing Power Settings

Step 1: Go to the Start Menu. Write the Power Option in the Start Menu. Find an option in the start menu. Click on that.

Step 2:  While clicking on it, a new window will open. Now choose the High-Performance option. In this option, the performance of the Laptop will be increased. But the power consumption might be increased with time.

Method 2: Ending Ongoing Processes

Step 1: Open the Task Manager and press Ctrl + Shift + Esc buttons simultaneously. Then the Task Manager will be opened.

Step 2: Now, identify which application is consuming much Memory Space & CPU Consumption. After identifying, make Right Click on that application. Find an End Process option. Click on it to stop the process.

Method 3: Disabling The Startup Applications

Step 1: In this case, open the Task Manager on the machine. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc buttons simultaneously to open the Task Manager. Now, click on the Startup Tab to move ahead.

Step 2: In that new tab, identifies the application that is not needed to start when opening the device. It causes more pressure on the Processor & hence the temperature got increased. Click on that applications & find an option below to Disable them.

Method 4: Optimising Drives

Step 1: Write down Defragment in the Start Menu. After writing that, click on the option Defragment & Optimise Drives. It will bring some more options.

Step 2: After clicking on that option, a new window will be opened. Click on the C Drive option present there. After clicking on that drive, click on the Optimize button to save space in the C Drive & this will improve the performance of the processor.

Method 5: Cleaning Cache Files

Step 1: Open the Run Command Window in their machine and press the Windows + R button simultaneously to open the Run command Window. Now, write down the following command to open the new file explorer window.

Command: %temp%

Step 2: A new file explorer window will be opened. Clear all the files that are present in that folder. These are the cache files that are stored in the machine from time to time. These are the files that slow down the processor speed & hence it becomes more heated. These things need to be removed from that folder.

Method 6: Clearing Temporary Files

Step 1: Open the Run Command Prompt again. In the run command, prompt, execute the following command. It might seem identical to the previous method. But there is some difference. In this method, clean up the temporary files in the machine and run the following command.

Command: temp

Step 2: After running the command, a new window will open. Select all the files present in that folder. Then delete all the files. It will clear the temporary files from the machine & reduce the pressure on the processor.

Method 7: Removing Prefetch Files

Step 1: In this case, open the Run command window again by pressing the Windows + R button simultaneously. Now, in the Run window, write the following command. This command will help to open the files where the prefetch files are located. Before opening any file, the prefetch files are stored in the machine & act as temporary files. But its location is different.

Step 2: Now, in the newly opened window, select all the files & then need to delete the files from the folder. This increases some more space in the machine & lastly helps to boost the processor of the device.

Method 8: Using Disk Cleanup

Step 1: At first, open File Explorer. Right Click on the C Drive. Hence, it will bring up some more options. Click on Properties.

Step 2: It will open a new window in front, click on the Disk Cleanup option. It will take some time to complete the process. Wait till the process is completed.

Method 9: Changing System Configuration

Step 1: In this case, open the Run command prompt. In the Run window, write the following command. This command will help to open the System Configuration window in the machine.

msconfig

Step 2: In the System Configuration window, the Services tab will get opened. Click on the Disable All button present there. It will stop all the applications running in the machine for a quick boost of the processor. It will help to bring down the temperature of the processor also.

Method 10: Changing Performance Option

Step 1: First, open the System of the machine. In the System window, some more options will appear on the Left-Hand Side. Click on Advanced System Settings.

Step 2: After clicking on that, a new window will open, click on the Settings option under Performance. It will bring up a new window.

Step 3: In the next window, Select the option Adjust For Best Performance. After selecting the option, click on the Ok button present there. This will make a large change in the device.

Note: If it is necessary, then only perform this method. If the device is running very slowly & processor temperature goes too high to handle, then choose this option. In this method, all the normal graphics, and processes of the machine get reduced by a high amount.
