I have been working for Wipro for over a year now. I have joined from the direct campus as a diploma engineering graduate through Wipro SIM Program. This is a 4-year program where I got an opportunity to pursue a BTech degree from BITS Pilani through Wilp which is fully sponsored by Wipro while working on projects. After joining you will get a domain decided by Wipro as per business requirements I allot a Cloud domain on which I have got training. In the training period, you learn about different technologies which will boost your professional skills and it will make you ready for a set of roles in your domain. As a fresher in these 4 years, you will get a lot of learning opportunities but you will enjoy the whole learning journey which will provide you with different challenges and experiences. After completion of training, we got project allocation to the clients. Now I am working for my client HDFC Ergo General Insurance Co. headquarters as a system engineer. You will work for Five days a week and one-day college class will be held and one day off. The college classes will be going online on Saturday or Sunday according to your project.

My key responsibilities as a System Engineer are:

  • Managing different issues related to hardware, software, network, and server.
  • Supporting VIP users and other users in the branch as well as PAN India locations.
  • Checking service requests and solving customer issues by maintaining SLA.
  • Managing escalations and reporting to the manager.
  • Supporting clients remotely or physically.

Although it’s a good company to begin your career with it has some pros and cons also. Here I have listed some pros and cons of working at Wipro.

Pros:

  • Good Company for freshers and this is a good program.
  • Good work culture.
  • You will get a lot of learning opportunities.
  • You will get professional work experience as well as a degree.

Cons:

  • Worklife balance but you can manage if you plan accordingly.
  • Most projects you will get from support but you will learn a lot if you have the desire.

But I can say my overall journey till now is very beautiful and I am always getting opportunities to upskill myself
