VGEC Ahmedabad Campus Experience

For me, taking admission to VGEC was one of the best decisions of my life. This college has a beautiful infrastructure with a lot of trees and plants around the campus. Unlike other government engineering colleges, the teaching facility of VGEC is way better. There are a lot of different departments in this college like Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc.

I took admission to VGEC in the year 2021, so basically I’m a student of the 2021-2025 batch. For the first semester of my college, I attended all the lectures in the online mode because of COVID-19. I made a lot of new friends in the first semester and was very excited to meet them in real. Then, in the second semester, the offline lectures started and it was an amazing experience to meet all those friends in real. Since it was the first year of college, the seniors used to conduct the seminars and guide us on what we needed to do in order to achieve excellence in our field of study. And those seminars were acting as the guiding light for all students.

The second year of college was very adventurous because that was the year when I took part in a lot of technical events and hackathons. One of the major technical events which took place in our college was ‘HackVGEC’. This event was based on building web development projects on the problem statements given by our college faculty. It was an amazing experience to solve real-world problems with our technical skills and that was the moment that made me realize that I can contribute a lot to society with my technical skills. And from that moment, I became more interested in building projects. Thanks to HackVGEC 🙂

I can’t forget one of the most vibrant events of VGEC which is ‘VISHWACUP’. Every year in our college this event gets organized in which students from all the different branches compete with each other in games like cricket, volleyball, chess, table tennis, badminton, kabaddi, etc. This is an event that takes place for three days and during that time period, the entire college environment feels with a lot of energy where all the students are taking part in their favorite games and trying to win.

In our college, there’s an E-Cell which is a start-up and entrepreneurship center with a vision to impart knowledge and insights in entrepreneurial practice and theory through lectures, seminar activities, and workshops. Under E-Cell, I attended a lot of seminars on entrepreneurship which were conducted by the experts, and from that, I learned about the basics of business and how to do a start-up effectively.

I must say that I will never forget the experiences I gathered at VGEC because this is the place where I learned how to think effectively and do something for the betterment of society.
