The online test comprised several sections, each with a specific time limit. It began with an essay-writing section, where we were given 30 minutes to complete an essay on the topic of “Talent versus Hard Work.” After that, we had 20 minutes to tackle two coding questions&#x2014one involving heaps and the other requiring the use of the greedy algorithm.

Following the coding section, we moved on to a game that was explained through a video. The game lasted for 30 minutes, and the score was based on the number of correct answers marked within that time frame.

The subsequent sections involved finding the correct spelling of misspelled words, and identifying antonyms, synonyms, and word meanings. Each of these sections had a 10-minute time limit, and the scores were determined by the number of correct answers within that time.

In total, the test spanned 2 hours, and I was successful in qualifying for the interview.

Round 1 of the interview involved meeting the interviewer, who began by requesting an introduction. Then, I was questioned about various topics, including sorting algorithms (merge sort and quick sort) and their time complexities derivation. Additionally, the interviewer asked about storage classes, transaction isolation level, foreign keys, referential integrity constraints, normalization, 3NF, BCNF, scheduling algorithms, Convoy effect, Live lock, Zombie process, and Referenced key.

Furthermore, a coding question was presented, which involved finding a pair in an array whose sum was divisible by 9. I managed to solve the problem using both brute force and optimized approaches, which led to my selection for the next round.

After clearing Round 1, I proceeded to Round 2, which was an HR round. The HR representative asked for an introduction and then inquired about what positive impact I would like to bring to society. Further questions were asked about my native place, and my responses appeared to leave a positive impression.

Finally, I received the good news that I was selected for the Software Development Engineer (SDE) role at Verizon.
