Verizon is one of the American-based MNCs that focuses on telecommunications including 5G.

Verizon conducted the on-campus drive in our college for the Developer role. Let me brief the whole process in the following steps.

The registration application is open in Superset, a platform where companies and institutions collaborate. After applying, we received the Online assessment link from the Aon platform.

Round 1: Online Assessment

  • The test consists of 3 modules. they are:
    • Module 1: Written English Test – 25 Minutes:
      • There is an essay given which should be written within the limit of 190-240 words(approx.) by avoiding using the backspace key frequently. The topic is common for everyone: “Opinion of 9-5 job for freshers”. Avoid using AI tools. After Submitting module 1 or time out we redirected to module 2.
    • Module 2: Coding Test – 40:
      • There are given 2 coding questions which are easy-medium level. There will be hidden test cases be aware of it. After this, we have been redirected to module 3.
    • Module 3: Gamified Test – Approx. 25 Minutes:
      • The game is a switch challenge where there will be four kinds of Geometrical shapes connecting through a switch containing code. the position of the shapes changes based on the code and we need to find out the correct code in which the order of the shapes changes.
      • There is no limit to a number of levels. We need to complete the maximum number of levels possible within the given time limit.
  • In this way, the online assessment was concluded and in a couple of days, the results of the online assessment were announced. Out of 257 students, only 59 students qualified for the next round which is Group-discussion and fortunately, I was on the list.

Round 2: Group-discussion

  • The 59 students were divided into teams and the group discussion was conducted in Google Meet.
  • The panel member was very friendly and gave us a topic on “Smart work vs. Hard work”. They have checked our communication skills here. It happened like a JAM round rather than a group discussion. Everyone got a chance to speak on the topic.
  • The group discussion was concluded and by the end of the day, the qualified students received the mail regarding the interview. Out of 59 students 40 students qualified for the interview.

Round 3: Technical Interview

  • The interview was very friendly and cool. First, he introduced himself and continued the process.
  • He asked about my academic and personal background followed by some questions on my academic background like a reason for the gradual degradation of my CGPA from 10th to Btech.
  • Later, he went through a technical discussion on my major project and its tech-stack that is Springboot.
  • He asked me about how to integrate MySQL with Spring Boot.
  • For a JavaScript question that is Given a component like a button in JS, you need to change the color of the button. How will you access the button?
  • what do I know about 5G rather than its speed?
  • He asked me about OOPS, class, and objects and asked me to explain them by taking a real-time example.
  • The round concluded with the question “What do you know about Verizon?”. followed by that he asked me whether I had any questions for him. Be ready with 1-2 questions to ask at the end of the interview.
  • The results have been announced and out of 40 members 29 cleared the Technical Interview round and I was one of them.

Round 4: HR Interview

  • The interviewer asked for my self-introduction and I answered including my hobbies, goals, Strengths, and weaknesses the round wrapped within 2-3 minutes.

The results were quite delayed for a week and out of 29 members 10 got the offer and finally I was one of them.

Tips:

  • Be confident.
  • Brush your basic technical skills.
  • Get ready with strong communication skills.
  • Be active during your interview and try to interact with the panel as much as possible.
