Verizon recently visited our campus for an SDE role in August 2023.

Round 1: (Online Test)

  • The online test consists of several sections and has a time limit.
  • Sections were essay writing, coding section (2 questions) whose difficulty level was easy to medium, vocabulary section (within a specific time we can answer any number of questions), and gaming round (within a specific time we have to play maximum rounds).

Along with me, 60 others cleared the round among 600 (approximately) members.

Round 2: (Group Discussion)

  • The next round was a group discussion. They have given a time slot for each group( each group has 10 members).
  • As it was difficult to conduct GD online, instead, they gave each student 1 minute to speak about a given topic.

Group Discussion topics:

  • About AI
  • Talk about your favourite food.
  • Hard work and smart work—which one do you prefer?
  • Why everyone says we miss our childhood days
  • About Chandrayaan 3
  • Village side and city side, which is better?
  • 5G technology
  • Thoughts on Working from Home
  • Sustainable development goals
  • sports
  • Digital devices

For the next round, 40 members were selected.

Round 3: Technical Interview

  • The interviewer reviewed my resume and asked about me.
  • Most of the questions were based on the projects that we mentioned.
  • The questions the interviewer asked were:
  • Explain the project’s architecture.
  • How do you create a login page by implementing all security measures?
  • I answered authentication and two-step verification for security, and then he asked if I entered the wrong password, and what the alert message that we get, and I answered both username and password were incorrect, and then he cross-questioned why both username and password were incorrect and why not only password is incorrect.
  • If the website is prone to any DOS attack, how would you identify it?
  • Real-life examples of stack queues and hash maps.
  • What are memory leaks?
  • How can you handle memory leaks in large projects?
  • Even if you have garbage collection, do we still get any errors related to memory?
  • If it is a distributed network, how do you handle the requests?
  • What are your hobbies apart from academics?
  • What are microprocessors?

After this round around 16 people were selected for the next round.

Round 4:(HR Interview)

  • I think this was the shortest interview that I had given.
  • The interviewer asked for my introduction, apart from my education and projects.
  • This was the only question he asked me, and for some of my friends, he also asked them to speak for 1 minute about the given topic.

I was really scared about the result, and fortunately, I was selected for the role.

Verizon has selected 10 members from our campus.
