I have completed my graduation from UIET, MDU in Rohtak where I pursued B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering. Overall, the college experience was filled with ups and downs at various stages because of the pandemic. I did not get to attend college for a huge part of the curriculum but the few days I spent there were filled with new experiences and learnings at every step.

About the campus:

The campus was divided into wings representing various disciplines and branches. It has solar-powered panels, modern classrooms, high-tech laboratories, an amphitheater with large seating, a sports wing, a huge library, a recreation room, a placement cell, and a campus canteen that serves scrumptious meals.

First-Year Experience:

My first year of college was nearly entirely offline, I made new acquaintances and got to know seniors who helped me fit in. I got an opportunity to learn new things every day where I mostly explored topics related to my curriculum. I started developing an interest in Web Development so I joined a college community club which helped me expand my knowledge in this domain and even teach about various concepts. The teachers were very supportive and taught even the most difficult subjects in the easiest manner possible. The labs were conducted regularly where the deep focus was maintained on practical knowledge apart from the theoretical classes. Weekly question-and-answer sessions were held when lecturers answered each student’s questions personally. Each student also received individualized support from their assigned mentors, which aided them in both their academic and extracurricular endeavors.

Second and Third-Year Experience:

The second and third-year classes were mostly online due to the pandemic which was difficult at first as it was new for students as well as the teachers. Slowly we adapted to the new changes and made online learning fun and enriching. We had our exams in both offline and online mode which helped the students from different states to easily take the exams.

Final Year Experience:

During the final year, the classes returned to offline mode and we got another opportunity to meet our friends and go back to life before covid. It was the placement season and all the final-year students were worried. The teachers and mentors did their part and helped the students to prepare for placements and enroll in the training programs. The last semester was spent mostly in placement preparations and students were exempt from classes to attend the training and internship programs. I was very happy as I got placed in the final semester and ended my college on a high note.
