I am in the last year of my Master’s journey from Central University of Haryana which is located in a district named Mahendargarh of Haryana. I would like to articulate my perspectives on this college, formed through careful analysis and observation during the time I spent here.

Academic Programs:

It is around 70+ programs in general in this university including undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD and diploma courses. This university also provides some integrated programs where you can enrol for a Bachelor’s as well as a Master’s in that specific subject together.
The link to check all the programs offered by CUH is mentioned here: CUH Academic Programs List

Faculty:

As we all know the calibre and expertise of the faculty play a vital role in the growth of the educational environment. Faculties here a highly educated and have years of experience in teaching. But if I am talking specifically about CS domains, faculties do not have that much industrial experience and according to the syllabus we are lagging in terms of getting expertise in new technical domains. But at a wide notation, this problem is not specific to a single university so if I have to rate the faculty’s overall performance(in the CS domain) in comparison to the other Universities in India, I will rate 7 out of 10 on an average basis.

Facilities:

As we explore the facilities section of this university it will stand out loud. The university covers an area of 500 Acres something but most of the part is full of wood only. But the Hostel facilities are very good as there are 3 boys and 4 girls hostels available, 24/7 water supply, good rooms, new hostels, Mess inside the hostel, Gym(less equipped), badminton court, WiFi facility, TV room, reading room and so on. University provides a dispensary where you can get treatment and medical help in general stances. Classes contain 2 AC, seminar halls, labs etc.

Talking about negative points University is in a bit rural area so the availability of things like food, clothes, and shops is an issue. Also, grounds for big sports are not there, some departments are facing issues with classes and labs.

Accreditation and Rankings:

The Central University of Haryana has a NIRF ranking as an ‘A’ grade university which is quite decent given the Academics, Infrastructure, Faculty, and Learning Environment.

Career Services:

On research and services university performance is decent and so many students are pursuing their future in their interest field from here but as a CS student, I should talk about our career expectation which is generally placements.

As CS students we all know that placement in computer science means IITs or NITs basically but still, we can expect something from our tier 2 or tier 3 colleges. But sadly, the campus placement rate is almost nil from here. If you are capable and you can grab good placement by yourself you can opt for this university but if you want to rely on a university for your placement this is not a better choice.

Extracurricular Activities:

There are so many activities performed at this university officially and unofficially as well. As this is a diverse place where people from every region of India are coming and showing their culture we can see different types of celebrations on their regional occasion which you might never see before.
Apart from this, activities in sports like Departmental Sports tournaments, Intra Regional Tournament and so many other tournaments are here in this university.
Also, the Annual function, Fresher’s party, Haryana Day, DJ night and so many other functions are here as well.

How to take admission?

You can write an exam named CUET for your course of interest for which you can register in March or April. And then you can just apply here at the university online. It is a very smooth process do not worry.

Personal Experience:

If I share my personal experience, I like the hostel facilities, but food is a bit problem for me. Activities in the university are quite low yes it is improving year by year. I like the less distracting environment if you want to study peacefully but your social way of meeting people can become less due to less exposure to things here.

Overall a good university if you have your all plans for the future sorted.
Thanks for taking out your time hope I discussed about the points you want to know about. Have a nice day.
