This campus drive was organised by our training and placement cell at Sister Nivedita University . The overall exam process was in online mode but the interview process was in offline mode .

Round 1 :

  • 1The first round was an online aptitude test round which consists of questions from quantitative aptitude and also questions were there from verbal ability and reasoning section as well.
  • The quants were basically asked from topics like Profit and Loss, Mixtures, Algebraic expressions, Series based questions, AP, and some other mind twisting questions .
  • Verbal ability questions were generally English language questions like comprehension based where we need to read the passage and answer the questions that follow up . Also there were synonyms , antonyms, Write meanings type , jumbled words, nouns, tense , etc. to test the English proficiency basically .
  • Reasoning were basically from the puzzle , coding – decoding, alphabet related etc. and so on . The level of questions was basically from easy to moderate type .

Suggestions : I suggest to practise as much questions as possible from the quants, reasoning and verbal ability parts. Practise regularly from every topic . You can practise from websites like GeeksforGeeks, PrepInsta, etc.

Round 2 :

  • Those who qualified the 1st round were given the test link for the second online round . The results were declared in 1-2 days .
  • This round was a coding round where two questions were given and some advance quants and reasoning were also there at the starting part of this round .
  • For the quants and reasoning the topics were same as I mentioned above but the difficulty level of questions was high. They seemed to me as CAT level questions or may be higher level than that(according to my experience).
  • The first coding question was of moderate level and question can be solved by using array , linked list or stack also . The second coding question was of higher level based on dynamic programming or graph .
  • The first challenge is to understand both the questions clearly and to figure out how to proceed, thereafter comes the approach how to solve. The questions were lengthy to read and very-very tricky to understand, if you miss a single line then it will create problem and may be some test cases may not pass as you missed some crucial there .

Suggestions : For cracking this second round, I highly suggest to prepare quants and reasoning from CAT or some MBA exam related papers. And for coding part try to practise hard level problems from Data Structures and Algorithms in topics like recursion, dynamic programming, graph, hashmaps, list, stacks, queues, etc. You can practise from websites like GeeksforGeeks, PrepInsta , etc.

Round 3 :

  • Those who were able to clear the second round(including me) were shortlisted for the technical interview round which was decided to take place in online mode but later it changed and happened in offline mode . The venue was the TCS Office in Kolkata where we need to appear offline .
  • The interview panels were set up in nearly 10 rooms in that office . The interviewer was very friendly and polite and the questions asked were from my project which I have mentioned in my CV.
  • He tried to ask me from every point in my project like how i have inserted that portion, how i have created carousel , what will happen if I click on this icon, etc. and the interview went for about half an hour .
  • He also asked questions on OOPS, Java, etc.

Suggestions : Try to prepare everything especially the projects properly which you have mentioned in your CV . Also read theoretical parts from the programming language which you have used before or which you have mentioned in your resume. And be confident about your answers.

Round 4 :

  • Those who cleared the technical interview round were shortlisted for the last round of interview which was HR and Managerial round both combined .
  • The HR was very friendly and soon as entered his room , he make me sit and ask one or two friendly questions so that the environment becomes normal for me as I was bit nervous there.
  • Then he asked about my introduction, where do I see myself in 5 years , and some other HR related questions, about my family background etc. Don’t try to lie as they understand from your way of speaking what you want to say . So, be true always .
  • Then he also asked me some situation based questions like if I have to move to Chennai for a project for 8 years then what will you do, etc. in order to check whether I am fit for working in any type of situation or not . At last, the result was positive and I was selected .

Suggestions : Always be confident about your answers. Don’t be nervous as that will impact your mental stability . Always feel positive and have a positive attitude towards them . Keep calm.
