Introduction:

Hello, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Today, I’m thrilled to share my incredible experience with the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on-campus hiring process. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, and I couldn’t be more excited to narrate the journey that led me to my dream job.

The Assessment Round:

The TCS on-campus hiring process began with the assessment round. This round was quite challenging but equally rewarding. It consisted of medium to hard aptitude questions covering various topics. Additionally, there was a coding section that required us to solve two coding problems—one easy and the other hard. The first coding question asked was to reverse all the words in a sentence, except for a specific word given. The second one was a scenario-based challenge, where I had to handle data related to beaches, finding those with ratings above a given value in a particular location. The constraints on creating classes and properties made it even more interesting!

The Interview Round:

After a week, I received the wonderful news that I had been shortlisted for the interview round. During the interview, the interviewer began by asking about me and my experience with Java. They were keen on understanding my Java skills and the projects I had worked on. Then came the technical part, where I was tasked with deploying a program to remove duplicates from an ArrayList in Java. It was a practical test of my coding abilities and Java knowledge. Additionally, the interviewer inquired about my job location preferences, which showed that TCS genuinely cares about aligning their employees with the right work environment. The interview went on for around 40mins.

The HR Interview:

A week later, I was invited to the HR interview. As always, the HR interview started with a brief introduction about myself. The HR professional was interested in my projects and the tech stacks I had utilized during my academic and personal projects. Furthermore, the HR interview included some intriguing technical questions. They asked me about an alternative way to add two numbers without using traditional arithmetic operators. It was an engaging problem that demonstrated my problem-solving skills. Moreover, they inquired about my knowledge of Python and wanted to know about the roles of numpy and pandas. Being prepared and having a good understanding of these popular Python libraries proved to be an advantage.

The Offer:

Just a week after the HR interview, I received the email I had been eagerly waiting for—the offer letter! I couldn’t contain my excitement as I read through the details. Without a second thought, I happily accepted the offer to join TCS, a company I had always admired.
