TCS for Assistant Systems Engineer grade -Y (On-Campus)

The first drive we had on our campus was Tata Consultancy Services in September month. There were four different rounds in the recruitment process. I’ll be walking you through the interview process.

We had an online exam which consisted of four sections.

Sec 1. Verbal Ability. In this section, a simple letter was to be written in 10 minutes. The letter may be either formal or informal. You must stick with the word limit and the keywords mentioned.
Sec 2. Quantitative Aptitude. I guess you don’t need an explanation in this section. 20 questions were there. Duration: 40 minutes. Negative marking was present.
Sec 3. Technical Aptitude. Basic questions from C language were asked. 10 questions. Duration: 20 minutes. Negative marking was present.
Sec 4. A simple C Program was asked.

Question – you were given two arrays with different lengths, need to return one array after the merge and should sorted format.

Once you clear this online round, you will move to the interview rounds. The results of the online exam were announced two days later.

Technical interview,

I had three panelists in the room. the first question to introduce myself at first and follow up question my family.

• I was asked to describe my internship which I had done and my contribution to the project.
• I was then asked about my Final Year Project and the games I developed using Java.

They discuss your Final Year Project in a brief intro, how many people were there, what my is role, and what was my contribution, then follow-up questions like a limitation of the component that we used in it, what range it can operate, and so on.

1. Somewhat from DBMS like Normalization and Subqueries.

2. write the subquery for finding the second rank student in a class.

3. Java point of view, the concept of code reusability, the OOPS Concept, and linked to real-life objects.

4. Difference between JDK, JVM, and JRE.

5. what is the default value for the java variable or its garbage?

A programming question like a string given like an email test@gmail.com and as output return as only test.

For Hr Round not much discussion happened just normal questions for my ctc info, about me, something about my city, disadvantages of college, and willing to relocate or not.
