Both Jira and Confluence are developed under the same Australian company named Atlassian in 2002 and 2004 respectively. Though developed by the same company, they come under different categories of tools. Jira is a tool that is used to track issues and bugs whereas Confluence is a collaboration tool for the teams to communicate.
