Hello dear learners,

I will be sharing my interview experience with Incture Technology . Incture came to our campus in the month of August for an associate software engineer profile. The eligibility criteria may differ from college to college but on our campus the eligibility criteria was

  • 10th/12th >=65 percent
  • Btech>=7 CGPA
  • No backlog
  • Branches-All branches

There were 4 rounds-

Online Test:

They conducted an online test on campus where there were 2 parts: Aptitude logical reasoning and verbal and the second coding part. The aptitude was not so easy but if you practice well then you are good to go. There were 3 coding questions 2 was from string manipulation and number game (super easy) and the third was from dp (dynamic programming). I had cleared all test cases. Mostly, those who cleared all three questions got selected for 2nd round but some people cleared 2 questions and a half of the third also got selected for the next round. My suggestion for this round will be to practice DSA as much as you can and for the aptitude part, if you have the basics clear then you will solve them because they give a sufficient amount of time for the aptitude part.

Design and Thinking Round:

It was the most important round I guess. They give heavy weight to this round. In this round, they give us two problem statements and you have to choose one of them and think of a solution for that problem statement. It was not a system design round by the way. So do not waste your time preparing for system design. It was a pen-paper round and we wrote our solution within 30 minutes and submitted it. The problem statements were

1. Dynamic pricing of electricity bills based on various parameter

2. Solution to clearing the pending cases at the police station

My suggestion for this round will be to collect all the problem statements that are available online do a little bit of research before trying to make flowcharts and always write in bullet points, maintaining an intro, solution, and conclusion. Last but not least mention the technology that will be best suited for your solution. Avoid writing an essay in this round, your solution should be clear.

Technical Interview Round:

First, they asked me about my introduction. Then they asked about my design thinking round solution. A long 10-15 min discussion was there about my solution. I think they were impressed with my solution and I won half of the battle here. Then they asked about my projects and easy questions on the topic of react-js, HTML, CSS and a little bit about programming language. After that, they asked me to leave. while I was leaving they asked what is my favourite sport and player, I said cricket and Dhoni respectively. The interviewer’s favourite player was the same. so we had a 5-minute conversation about cricket and Dhoni. After that, they finally asked me to leave.

HR Interview Round:

In this round, they asked about my school, college and my strengths and weaknesses. They also asked about their company and some easy programming questions like swapping 2 variables with/without using a third variable. Look at the toughest coding question of the online test. They might ask you about that also.

Finally, they selected 5 students from our campus 4 of them from the Information Technology branch and one from Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. Hope this will help you in your preparation. Thank you for reading.
