How to Reinstall Windows 10 without CD/USB Easily?

In many cases, reinstalling another system version can make the performance ability of the PC better. So, in case of system issues, like the PC not working as normal, reinstalling the Windows 10 version can restart functions as normal. 

Therefore, this process is suitable for fixing system issues, but the risk of data loss remains. Typically, people use USB or installation CD to prevent major data loss, but what if you do not have this available? 

In that sense, there are specific processes you can take to reinstall Windows 10. Here, we shall cover those details, including all steps that go into the process. 

When should you reinstall Windows 10 with no CD or USB?

When people purchase a new computer, the device typically already has Windows OS already installed. Plus, there is some additional bloatware available for simple access and usage.

Solution 1: Reinstall Windows 10 with the Reset Feature

This is a preset feature Microsoft included in the Windows 10 software, which users can operate for this process without any key. Also, while using this method, you can choose to remove the files or keep them on the device.

This procedure is suitable to use if your Windows PC is not functional at all. No extra installation media or software download is necessary to run this feature during setup, which makes it a simple process to try. 

How to proceed?

Step 1: Click on the Start menu and go to the Settings option from the search field. 

Step 2: Under the Settings menu, click on Update & Security and choose the Recovery option. 

Step 3: Next, tap on the Get Started button under Reset this PC.

In case your system suffered from issues after Windows 10 upgrading, you should tap the Get Started button under Recovery for the earlier build/OS version available.

Step 4: Pick a selection for continuing ahead. Then, choose the “Keep my files” option to save your data during the reinstallation process.

Step 2: Click on the “Create Installation media for another PC” option and then choose Next. 

Step 3: Next, choose the Windows 10 edition, language, and architecture (32-bit/64-bit) fit for your PC and click on the ISO file under the media type selection, and press Next. Rename this file as Windows 10. 

Step 4: Hit the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box and type in “diskmgmt.msc” to open the Open Management window. 

Step 5: Next, you have to shrink the partition available by right-clicking on the partition under Disk Management windows > Shrink Volume. Change the value to 6000 MB and tap the Shrink button.

Step 6: Then, right-click on the unallocated space and choose the New Simple Volume option to make a new partition. Assign a specific drive letter for it and continue all on-screen steps new until finally naming the partition “Recovery”. 

Step 7: Access the ISO image file and copy-paste all available files here to the newly created partition. 

Step 8: Access the EasyBCD option and tap on the “Add New Entry” option.

Step 9: Next, in the Portable/External Media option, choose WinPE. Tap the button on the Path’s right-hand side to find your newly created partition folder. Access Sources > boot.win file > Add Entry.

Step 10: Tap on the Edit Boot Menu option and choose NST WinPE Image. 

Step 11: In the Modify Menu Entries section, tap on Rename and type “Windows 10 Recovery” as its new name. Change the Count value to 15 from 30. Finally, press Save Settings. 

Step 12: Reboot the PC and choose Windows 10 Recovery. 

Solution 3: Reinstall Windows 10 with System Image using a Third-Party Tool 

You can prepare a system image to reinstall Windows 10 and use it to process whether the PC boots up well or otherwise. But first, prepare a recovery drive using reliable third-party data backup software. 

After creating the backup of all of the available files in the system, you can restore it to the PC at a later time for suitable reinstallation. 

How to proceed?

Step 1: Install and launch the EaseUS Todo Backup software and choose Create a Backup. Then tap on the “Select backup contents” option. 

Step 2: Next, choose the OS option to back up the Windows system. 

Step 3: All of the data in your system OS, type the system files/partitions will get selected automatically. Choose the saving destination location.

Step 4: Choose options like NAS, cloud, network, or external hard drive. 

Step 5: Make customization-based settings configurations like activation of the schedule for the automatic backup, like monthly, weekly, daily, or specific events. Then, tap on Backup Now. 

Step 6: To reinstall Windows PC later and all data later, launch the software again and choose the “Browse to Recover” option. 

Step 7: Go to the destination you selected for the backup and choose the backed-up pbd file. Press OK. 

Step 8: Select the recovery disk, keeping the partition style the same as the source disk here. Make disk layout customization as needed and then choose “Proceed”.
