Introduction:

Founded in the year 1970, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV) is a prestigious Central University that was established under the Central Universities Act 2009 by the Parliament. Initially, it was founded as a State University by an Act of the 11th Legislative Assembly of the then-undivided Madhya Pradesh on 16 June 1983. GGV holds active membership in renowned associations such as the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth University.

Since I have completed my B. Tech from Guru Ghasidas University, I am familiar with the admission procedure for the B. Tech program. However, it is important to note that there are more than 60 courses for which students can seek admission through NTA CUET.

Entrance Examination:

To gain admission to Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Bilaspur Chhattisgarh, students must successfully pass a highly competitive entrance exam JEE MAIN. This exam serves as the primary entrance test for undergraduate engineering programs at the college.

Application Procedure:

Once students qualify for the JEE MAIN exam, they proceed to participate in a centralized counseling process led by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). During this counseling session, serious thought must be given to make informed decisions about the intended course of study.

JoSSA Counselling: Choosing CSE as a branch

After much consideration and research, I made the decision to choose the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya during the counseling process. The field of computer science fascinated me, and I believed that pursuing a degree in CSE would provide me with excellent career opportunities and a chance to delve into cutting-edge technologies. It was a moment of excitement and anticipation as I visualized the possibilities and challenges that awaited me in this dynamic field.

In order to be eligible for admission to Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Bilaspur Chhattisgarh, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Important Documents:

Having all the necessary documentation in order is critical throughout the admissions process. These papers serve as proof of a person’s credentials and personal information. Some of the important documents necessary for admission to Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya are:

  • JEE Main Admit Card and Scorecard: These documents are required and act as verification of the candidate’s JEE Main qualification.
  • Mark Sheets for Class 10th and 12th: These mark sheets confirm the candidate’s academic success in secondary (Class 10) and higher secondary (Class 12) exams.
  • Category Certificate (if applicable): Candidates belonging to reserved categories (such as SC/ST/OBC) are normally required to produce a valid category certificate issued by the competent government authority.

  • Character Certificate: A character certificate from the candidate’s prior school/college is often requested to provide information about their conduct and behavior.
  • Gap Certificate: This document is required for applicants who have taken a significant period of time between the completion of their previous education and the commencement of a new academic program. The Gap Certificate typically includes details such as the duration of the gap, and the reason for the gap. This is common for many students as they are preparing for JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
  • Aadhaar Card or other identification proof: These documents serve as proof of identity and are necessary for official identification.
  • Passport-sized photographs: Candidates are normally required to present current passport-sized photographs for identification and official paperwork.

During the admission process, it is essential for candidates to submit all the required documents specified by the college. Since I did not have all the required documents, such as the Gap Certificate, I had to provide an undertaking.

The admission process at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Bilaspur Chhattisgarh primarily depends on the score obtained in the JEE Main exam and the counseling conducted by the college authorities.
