Guru Ghasidas University Admission Experience

Introduction:

The journey to secure admission into Guru Ghasidas University’s Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) was not merely a process; it was an odyssey of perseverance, dedication, and the pursuit of a passion for technology. This narrative encapsulates my unique experience of navigating the college admission landscape as a CSE enthusiast through the prestigious JEE entrance exam.

Short description of my course:

Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering (B. Tech CSE) is a four-year undergraduate program that combines the principles of computer science with engineering methodologies. It focuses on providing students with a solid foundation in programming, algorithms, software development, and hardware systems. The curriculum often includes practical learning experiences, projects, and opportunities for specialization in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, or data science.

Choosing Guru Ghasidas University:

Guru Ghasidas University emerged as my destination of choice, promising not only academic excellence but also a thriving CSE community. Firstly, I got a seat in NIT Raipur for the biotechnology branch but I only wanted to do CSE. After rejecting NIT, I only had a chance in GFTIs and being a local from Bilaspur my first choice was Guru Ghasidas University not just because it is close to my place but also because of its curriculum, faculty expertise, and the university’s commitment to fostering innovation within the CSE domain that fueled my enthusiasm to become a part of this dynamic academic community. And the decision to channel my efforts towards this institution was right.

The JEE Challenge:

The first step in my Guru Ghasidas University admission journey involved bracing myself for the challenging JEE Mains entrance exam. As a Dropper, months of rigorous preparation, late-night coding sessions, and solving intricate mathematical problems became a routine as I aimed to secure a position in one of the university’s coveted CSE seats. I secured approx. 26k category rank and 90k AIR after that in the second round of CSAB I got the CSE branch at this university.

Time for physical Reporting:

After clearing JEE Mains and its procedure, it was time for physical reporting. It was 7 November 2022 visiting first time to a large campus spread over 655 acres lushed with greenery. A huge auditorium, canteen, big central library, gym everything was so exciting. Then I reached the new building where the admission process was going. This was the building where I started this four-year journey. Lots of students from different branches were there. It took at least 4 hrs to complete the physical verification. And then my whole admission process came to an end.

Stepping into the Digital Frontier:

Finally stepping onto the Guru Ghasidas University campus marked the beginning of my adventure in the digital frontier of CSE education. The state-of-the-art labs, dedicated faculty, and a community of like-minded individuals created an environment conducive to exploration, collaboration, and academic growth.
