GGITS College Fest Experience

A college fest is a vibrant and exciting event that brings together students from various backgrounds to showcase their talents, creativity, and enthusiasm. At GGITS, the college fest is organized annually by the students’ union or a dedicated organizing committee with the support of faculty and staff.

Theme and Decorations:

The college is decorated around a unique theme that sets the tone and ambiance for the entire event. The campus is beautifully decorated with colorful banners, lights that reflect the theme and create an engaging atmosphere.

Inauguration and Guest Performances:

The college fest typically begins with a grand inauguration ceremony, where college authorities, faculty members, and distinguished guests offer their blessings and good wishes. At GGITS, the college fest is named Gyanotsav which includes khelotsav, tech-fest, cultural night, etc. Sometimes, renowned personalities from the fields of arts, sports, or entertainment are invited as special guests to grace the occasion.

Cultural Performances:

Cultural performances are the heart of any college fest. Students get a platform to showcase their talents in various art forms, such as music, dance, poetry, theater, art, and creativity. Solo and group performances by students often steal the show and the auditorium named Spandan was filled with the crowd.

Competitions and Events:

College fests host a wide range of competitions and events that cater to diverse interests and skills. Some common competitions include:

Music Competition:

A music competition where bands from the college or even other institutions compete. The performances of the candidates were examined and prize distribution also take place.

Fashion Show:

A display of creativity and style where students walk the ramp showcasing innovative outfits. Students contribute their work to the dresses and were showcased by the candidates in a ramp walk.

Dance Off:

A dance competition featuring different dance styles and themes. Various dance competitions were held during the event including the solo and group. The students enjoy it so much and so did the audience.

Quiz Competitions:

Intellectual battles that test participants’ knowledge on various topics. These competitions include treasure hunt, quizzes, etc and then prizes and certificates were also given to the candidates.

Art and Photography Exhibitions:

Students show their artistic talents through paintings, sculptures, and photographs. There were also some stalls where they sold their artworks.

Sports Tournaments:

Inter-college sports competitions in games like cricket, football, basketball, etc. The sports tournaments generally called khelotsav were organized in the college and started with an opening ceremony including a march pass which was performed by NCC candidates of our college.

Bollywood Day:

College fests often have a Bollywood day where we choose a character from Bollywood movies and get dressed up according to them. Many activities like saying a dialogue of them and dancing were also performed and the one who dressed up best was recognized.

Tech Fest:

Tech Fest includes various hackathons, shark tanks, and project exhibitions where students from technical backgrounds got to showcase their talents. In the project exhibition, students from all over the states were invited including the school students.

DJ Nights and Concerts:

To conclude the fest on a high note, DJ nights and concerts are organized, featuring popular artists or DJs, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere. Recently Arjun Kanungo and Yash Rathi also visited our college GGITS. The night was amazing and unforgettable.

Overall, a college fest is a celebration of the young generation, talent, and creativity, encouraging a sense of unity and camaraderie among students. It provides an unforgetful experience for everyone involved and creates cherished memories that students carry with them throughout their lives. This is something where the students enjoy their college life and live the best part of their life.
