GeeksforGeek Working Experience as Content Writer

I started working for GeeksforGeeks almost a year back and it has been a wonderful experience. It all started with me being a regular college looking to make some money. I came across an opportunity while I was reading an article about binary search in GeeksforGeeks, the thought of making some money by just writing about topics that we have been learning about since our childhood. The process was very easy to understand but it did take me some time to get used to this the whole platform.

The start was a bit turbulent as it took a lot of time for my first article to get published but after that, there was no looking back. I did face a bit of difficulty in the beginning regarding all the rules that needed to be followed, but as time passed I got used to them. My work experience with GeeksforGeeks has been really great and I have grown a lot since not only as a student but also as a person. Being able to earn my own money taught me things that would otherwise be unknown to me. It helped me understand the topics of my previous classes in a much better way and also encouraged me to learn new topics and write about them ( money might also be one of the reasons).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Write articles about various topics which can be either picked from the website or suggested by the user himself.
• Find grammatical errors or mistakes in existing articles.
• Add code if not already present in the article.

Even though initially my main motivation was the money I have moved on from materialistic benefits and started to understand the importance of this and how much I learn from this job. It has helped me achieve some level of financial independence. I did face some issues when I was initially writing the articles as I was not familiar with this kind of work. There were some issues in the beginning as the remuneration system was not clear but in the recent update, the said issue has been resolved as the status of remuneration is now being displayed.

Overall it has been a very pleasant experience, Though there were some issues in the beginning the support of GeeksforGeeks helped resolve those and gave more clarity in recent times. Once you get familiar with the process it becomes quite easy. I would recommend everyone to start doing the same.
