FavTutor Interview Experience for Technical Content Writer

In this article, I’ll tell you about my interview experience for the post of Technical Content Writer at FavTutor.

Selection Procedure: 2 rounds of interviews

Skills Required:

• Content Writing,
• Keyword Analysis,
• Using SEO tools,
• Good knowledge of DSA in any language
• Prior Experience as a writer(bonus)

Responsibilities:

• Conducting research on Algorithms and Data Structures
• Writing technical blogs on topics from DSA
• Solving Leetcode-based questions and writing in simplified manner(intuition, approach, algorithm, example, code)
• Collaborating with the design team to get correct visual representations for my blogs
• Enhancing the SEO level of my technical blogs
• Completing at least 3 blogs per week with a given word limit

First Round – Writing Assignment

Since this is an internship for a technical content writer, they wanted to test my technical as well as writing proficiency. So, the first round included me writing a 150-word blog on the data structure Stack. In this blog, I had to use keywords given by them and present a grammatically correct and quite readable blog with all the specifications like introducing stacks to beginners, giving real-life examples, its insertion, deletion, creation, and conclusion.

Second Round – Interview

In this round, I had a virtual discussion with the co-founder of the company about the roles and responsibilities of the post for which I was applying. Additionally, he also shared my sample blog and pointed out some mistakes and feedback which he would like me to address if I was selected.

He briefed me about the role and asked me basic managerial questions like being a professional technology student, and how will I manage this role along with my studies and co-curricular activities. Alongside this, we talked a bit about some of the SEO tools and keyword analysis tools I use to maximize the visibility of blogs on search engines.

He was quite satisfied with my answers and after about 45 minutes, this round was over.

Duration: 4 months(can be extended as per your performance)
