EXL Interview Experience for Process Associate

I got a call after I put my profile up on naukri.com. It was an HR consultancy firm hired by EXl. They asked for a few basic details about my background and education. Since I was a fresher I didn’t have any quotable experience, but that wasn’t an issue since they were also taking freshers. They also asked me where I was staying as they wanted the candidate from Delhi NCR since the office is in Noida, even though, at least in the beginning, it was Work From Home job. After these basic details they forwarded my info to the company and the consultancy confirmed that I was selected for the first round.

First Round – English Competency

The first round was checking for English competency. I received a mail with a meeting link the next day, asking me to join the meeting on the eve. When I joined the meeting there were 2-3 people with me to give the test. They asked us to show ourselves in the camera, it was mandatory, but the invigilator didn’t show themselves. It was a written exam and you had to write on paper.

It was overall a basic test which contained-

• Reading a passage and answering questions
• Fill in the blanks
• Writing an email
• And some other basic questions

After that, we were given 10 minutes to digitally scan our sheet of paper and send it to the invigilator via email or WhatsApp.

After a day the representative from the consultancy congratulated me and told me that I was selected for the next round.

Round 2 Telephonic Interview and Verification

After the consultancy notified me of the next round I got a call within two to three days. They didn’t tell their name but said they were from EXL. They asked me for basic details and told me that they liked my CV.

They didn’t ask for many things but the few things they did are:

• What is my future goal
• How this job is going to help me achieve my goals?
• What I’m currently doing?

This is all that mainly happened in the second round and then they told me that they need to do a video call as a verification after some time and they gave me a time slot to call them.

So I called at the given time, but they were busy at first and asked me to call after some time, so, I followed. When I called after some time they asked me once again what I’m currently doing(probably for verification purposes) and I responded. This was a much shorter call and didn’t take more than 2 minutes. I assume this was a verification process. The recruiter didn’t show their face.

Round 3 – AMCAT assessment

So, I again got a confirmation from my consultant regarding the next round and I received a mail which harboured a link for the aptitude test. The email asked me to click on the link and told me that it is only valid for a few days and I have to complete it before that. So I clicked on the link when I was comfortable.

The assessment was fairly easy, from my memory it contained the following sections-

• English test
• Mathematical reasoning
• Logical reasoning
• Basic computer(if my memory is correct)

Offer letter

After this, I was intimated by the consultant that I could get my offer letter any time now and just as she said I got a call from the company HR and they told me that I got the job along with my salary amount, honestly, I was expecting more than what they quoted, since they had multiple stages of interview. I told them that I needed a day to think about it, and they were fine with that. In the end, I decided to take the job and HR started to process my documents and gave me my offer letter. The entire process took about two-three weeks.
