Oct-Nov 2023

CGPA: 7

I appeared for the Confluent Software Engineer FTE(Full Time Equivalent) hiring process through my college campus, in Oct 2023. First, there was an Online Coding Round and it was followed by three rounds of virtual interview process.

Round 1: Coding Round

There were 3 questions to be solved on Hackerrank in 75 minutes.
I managed to solve one question successfully and made partial progress on the other two. Together with 12 other students.

Round 2: Technical Round (45 minutes)

I was asked to brief myself and then the interviewer moved on to a DSA (LC hard) after providing me with a live coding link where I had to write my code.
He asked me to solve the “Number of atoms”. I told him what approach I thought of. I tried to solve it using stack and map. But couldn’t arrive at a proper solution in that limited time. The interviewer liked my approach and said I was “almost there.” Shortly after, I got a call informing me that my next interview was scheduled in an hour. 8 students were selected for the next round.

Round 3: Concurrency round

They started with my introduction and then He asked me to implement the pool from scratch. He asked me to tell him what I was thinking and was giving hints based on that and I proposed a solution.
He was expecting a complete solution but I couldn’t arrive at an optimal solution I was far from it.

Result: Only one student was selected for the role and one was placed on the waitlist.
