Cognizant Internship Experience (On-Campus)

Cognizant Technology Solutions offered the offline internship at the Bangalore location (Manyata Tech Park) for 4-6 months of durations and in the field of JAVA Full Stack with a stipend of 15000.

The full-time offer for Cognizant was offered on-campus in the year 2022, along with the internship offer.

The company can opt for offline internship or training which is unpaid and online.

After getting selected for the internship, location preferences were asked and according to it locations were assigned. Before 1 week of joining date daily the teams meet call was available to answer the queries before getting on-boarded.

21st Jan 2023 was the joining date and 1 week of induction was conducted in both offline and online mode, according to the interviews that were held everyone was assigned to various domains.

They have domains such as c#, selenium testing, Java full stack, and aws.

Every day we need to report at 9 a.m. and complete 8 hours at the office. We had also training on communication skills which was helpful and improved our confidence.

The technical sessions used to be held daily followed by coach /mentor sessions.

There were 2 main evaluations in the internship. the first evaluation was online question+MCQ based which had Java, SQL questions and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript mcq.

The second evaluation was based on a project where we needed to demonstrate our work completed during the internship.

The technologies used were Java, html, css, javascript, SQL, and SpringBoot.

We were asked to make an application that involved CRUD operations. The team was made by the mentor, our team has a topic loan management system and individual modules were distributed by a mentor.

There were minor evaluations at regular intervals where we were supposed to give the progress of our project.

The internship completion certificate was given only to those who scored a minimum of 70% .

The stipend was also assignment-based and not monthly, after completion of specific tasks as per the timeline then only the stipend was processed.

Overall I had great learning experience and improvement in both technical as well as non-technical skills which are required for software development. Also, the leaders and mentors at Cognizant are helpful and motivational. I had a great time with other interns who helped me during the internship to resolve my doubts.
