Recently in January 2023, I got an offer from Capgemini India for a “Senior Analyst” role. So before joining to the company and as I am still currently pursuing my Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engg. they offered to work with them as a “Senior Analyst intern” for 3 months of period of time.

I was very glad to work with a such huge and successful MNC Company. So I got joining location to Pune Hinjewadi from 31st of January. I went to Pune prior 3 days after joining as an intern for finding accommodation in Hinjewadi Phase 3. You have multiple options for accomadatation like flats, sharing rooms, PGs, etc.

So come to the main point the joining was on 31st of Jan, and it was virtual mode. In that onboarding process you have to join the teams meet for your identity verification and have to show your Aadhaar card through the laptop webcam. After this process had been completed I received my login credential for the organization like my employee id, user id, organization’s personal mail address, etc.

From the second day of the training program, it was physical, and have to report to the office regularly. I went to the office at their stipulated time and they gave the temporary ids to us. On the second day, there was nothing special happen rather than they allocated the assets to use and we have to just to setup it up for the whole day.

As per our role as senior analysts, the management told us that we have to work in the banking domain, and our batch name was the “Marine Corps” batch. The company has a full day-to-day timetable for us to cover the syllabus for use. The whole management of our training was very impressive as they had a full plan of 3 months for us. I can honestly told that the training was very rigorous. We have to work from 9 am to 6 pm sharp. The company assigned two trainers for us who taught the different parts of our training curriculum for 45-45 days of total training. As our domain was banking so we have to work in Java technology(Core Java) , Java frameworks(Spring & Spring Boot), AWS cloud, and microservices. The trainers were very experienced fellows who worked and taught for many years to students and employees.

The curriculum involved learning the different concepts in their given phases and having to apply those on a bank application project. Also after each one and half week have to give hankrank coding test which consists of 2 coding problems, along with this they conduct a MCQ test on learned topics which has a medium difficulty level. As I earlier mentioned that we have to complete a project in different phases and with learned technology project evaluation is done firstly internally by trainers and again second time by the BU(Business Unit) team of the company who had experienced developers in their domain who were working on real projects. For all of this evaluation including the hacker rank test, MCQ test and also for project implementation phases evaluation the passing criteria was 60% each. If anyone fails to perform well it enters into a danger zone or red zone as per the performance in these 3 factors of evaluation and had to give reasons to officials for their bad performance. If more talk about the code of project implementation of project phases it was a tough call. You have to know each and every concept you have written as a line of code in your project. I was like the interview for about 30 min. nearly happened 6-7 times in the whole training period. So that the management can know how candidates are performing.

Come to the working environment, it was very pleasant and friendly to us. Everyone including your colleagues, trainers, and BU team was supportive in nature. Capgemini has a great campus and good working culture. After the end of the training, we have to submit the assets to the company.

In the end, it was an incredible experience of growth and learning.  Overall, my internship/training at Capgemini was an excellent opportunity for me to gain practical knowledge and experience in software development, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Microservices. I am grateful for the chance to work with a supportive team of professionals and am excited to apply my newly acquired skills and knowledge to future projects and opportunities.
