Amazon Interview Experience For SDE Internship

It was just one round of interviews after the OA round.
(1 hr online interview round slot)

Lasted for about 45 mins!!

The interview started with the introduction of the interviewer.
He then asked me for my brief introduction. After the introduction part, he showed me a question regarding the minimum cost requirement for merging files.

I read the question but it was a little uneasy to understand the question. So, we discussed the question and he explained it to me with an example.

After that, I discussed with him my approach to the question which he told me to dry run and explain in detail. He told me that it is a good approach. Which data structure will you use? And all.

Then he asked me to code it which I was also expecting. I started the code but it didn’t meet the requirements at first. So I asked him if I could rewrite the code. I think that I got nervous at that time which made a bad impression of me on the interviewer.
I was writing different logic in the code than the one I discussed with him in the starting.

He helped me 2 -3 times to write the code using the same logic we discussed.

Later I was able to write the correct code. Then he asked me why I chose the Priority queue data structure.

Finally, 15 min was remaining in the interview but he asked me If you have any questions you can ask me. I asked him what is the role of an intern in a company like yours.

He answered me in a brief but satisfactory manner and asked me if you have any other questions I could ask or if I could leave.

Result: Sadly, I was not selected!
It was a pretty easy interview but I got rejected by my own mistakes!!!
